Purchased this 12/11/16 at Walmart. Appeared to be well-crafted with a strong motor. Only used it about 6-8 times to make dried bread crumbs. Guess what happened on my last attempt to make some more bread crumbs... The black actuator arm in the handle was broken, rendering the unit useless. Was pleased to see Oster had a 5-year warranty on it since Walmart only has a 1-year warranty. Called Oster and spent 75 minutes on the phone with "Michelle" who was very pleasant and nice to work with. However... She said they had no replacement units or parts available for this model. Her manager suggested I take the smaller and cheaper model they do have. I refused as I need a larger processor and it goes against their "5 Year Satisfaction Guarantee" "...Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value..." Considering they did not have a satisfactory replacement in stock, and my concern that any replacement will fail in short order as well based on the countless similar reviews on the internet, I requested a refund of the purchase price. After over an hour on the phone with Oster, "Michelle" thinks she found a replacement unit and is trying to send it to me. So we'll see if one arrives, if it has a better actuator arm design, and how long it lasts. If I do receive one and it fails, I expect a full refund.

I absolutely love my new Oster 14 cup Food Processor! This was an early Christmas present from my sons to make my holiday baking easier for me. With arthritis in my hands, shredding cheese, mixing a batch of cookies or kneading bread was b. ecoming very difficult. Not any longer! My food processor is easy to use. I love the fact there are suction cups on the base to keep the appliance in place while operating. Also the blade storage in the back is great. No more looking around the kitchen for parts. The small bowl is also great for small batches of cheese, lettuce, etc. Clean up is simple and easy.

This is a great food processor for regular daily use. Seems to hold up well and love the under unit storage for all the little parts.

I bought my first one a week before thanksgiving in 2014. It broke in February 2015. So I bought another one thinking maybe it was something I did. That was in may of 2015, and it broke AGAIN in September!!! I thought okay, no more dishwasher. I'll hand wash it and make sure it's gentle used. So in November I bought my 3rd one. Well guess what... as of January 20th I no longer had one. I sat down for an hour looking it over. I was in tears. I did everything right, took caution with it, yet here I am again... $250 wasted. After an hour I noticed the lock on the bowl had broken. How? I have no clue. I took such care of it. Now I can not afford a 4th one. I'm not even sure who to contact to try and get this resolved. So I'll start here.

I bought this about 2 months ago and loved it, while using it to mix a cake it kept shutting off and than finally quit, I couldn't find a reason, my husband did, the black thing in the handle has broken off, this is not acceptable.

I bought this for my birthday present. Used it once and the plastic stem, allows to turn on, inside the handle broke. Took it back to my store (great folks there) and exchanged it for another one exactly like the first. Used it once and the same stem broke again almost the same place as the first time. My store refunded my money.
