I was very excited to receive the pressure cooker m. They've been very popular recently and I've seen many recipes involving them and saying how awesome they were. Upon receiving and unpacking it, I'll admit I was a little apprehensive. It looks quite complicated and honestly seems potentially dangerous if it is operated incorrectly. I was a bit confused because the manual said not to put pasta in it, though I had seen many recipes that suggested doing this. With some help from my boyfriend I was able to take a few pieces apart and clean them as instructed . We opted to take the simple route and made some marinated chicken breasts. They turned out fine, about the same as they normally would have in my opinion. I'm looking forward to trying more recipes, but until I fully understand and am co doesn't with how the appliance work, it's a bit stressful to use. This appliance is quite large, so be aware of your counter or storage space.

For me, it was "big & bulky" weighing in just over 12lbs. Takes up a 12"x12" of counterspace. I like that it's a heavy cooking pot. Looks and feels very well-made. The inner pot is a thicker aluminum pot (compared to other similar appliance pots) and has a well-coated non-stick surface. I usually cook meats in my old Presto stovetop pressure cooker. Maybe for the younger folks and folks that are always trying to multi-task, this appliance is a dream come true. Overall, it's well-made; however, the bottom of the pot should have had wider diameter rubber feet. This one has four rubber pads, very tiny, only 3/8" diameter. Maybe a wider footprint would be better? But, on the countertop, once filled and ready to go, it wasn't detrimental. Instructions are very detailed (a plus!) with lots of "Warning" notes. If you review the directions from start to end, you can't go wrong with this appliance. I like the safety feature; the locking mechanism works great. (Again, read the directions for your safety, since this unit is under pressure, and if you aren't paying attention, you can seriously burn yourself with hot, escaping steam.) I got this primarily to cook corned beef, pot roasts, and oxtails...all of which takes time in a slow-cooker. I tested a 3.25lb corned beef in the unit. If I used my Presto stovetop cooker, it takes 65 minutes on a "slow rolling" rocker. In this digital unit, I also used 65 minutes, but on the suggested HIGH setting. The corned beef came out wonderfully fork tender; probably a bit more tender than if I had cooked it using my stovetop cooker. The differences (pros): You dial in the times and settings, lock it down, press the start button, then leave it til it's done. The stovetop method, you would be constantly checking to insure pressure is correct based on your heat setting, also making sure the rocker was rocking at the correct "rhythm". This electric cooker is very quiet! Didn't hear it hissing, didn't hear the rocker at all! I like that. Cons: more work involved in cleaning the unit; instructions called for disassembling the cooker top - four items to take apart to carefully clean. Now, it does say that you don't have to always disassemble and clean parts after every cooking, but I tend to do that. Just me. After the required cooking cycle, the unit chimes 10 beeps letting you know the meat is cooked. You can use this for slow-cooker recipes, cooking grains and rice, too. But for me I will use this to primarily cook my meats quickly before transferring to another pot. It's a heavy pot, about 12.4 lbs empty, and again, takes up about a square foot of counter space. Tip: even though it's non-stick, I still spray Pam in the pot, as well as both sides of the aluminum strainer plate. Cleans up match faster! My old stovetop Presto cooker pot is straightwalled, 9.25 inches in diameter. This electric pot is a bit smaller; top diameter is 8.5 inches and tapers down to 7.25 inches. My old cooker is rated for 6 quarts; so is this electric cooker. Once you close the hatch and hit the start button, it took approximately 12 minutes to build up pressure and heat to start the pressure cooking cycle. (The time you dial in is the start time once this pressure is built up...it doesn't start counting down the cooking time until it has built up heat & pressure.) Overall, this is an excellent cooking appliance for those on the go, or for those that just don't want to hang around the kitchen monitoring a "live" stove. You will love this unit!

I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review. We have a small kitchen with all countertops having cabinetry above them. I quickly found out reading through the instructions that this will be a problem since you do not want to place the cooker where steam will come in contact with cabinets. This is a MAJOR issue for us and a top reason I don't see us using this cooker too often. I also wasn't aware at how many parts must be cleaned after each use. I'm all about simplicity, and although this cooker has a lot of functions, it does require quite a bit of assembly and maintenance after each use. Again, with a small kitchen, this just adds to the clutter. It is much bigger than our Crockpot (particularly the height). I actually didn't have a cabinet tall enough to house it, so it has to be store in a closet upstairs...less than ideal. Overall, if we had a larger kitchen, I would be much more excited about this product. For now, it is just too bulky to pull out frequently.

The Presto Pressure Cooker Plus is a great addition to the kitchen. The six quart multi-use programmable is easy to use and makes preparing a dinner very quickly and a necessity for any kitchen. This unit can also be used a regular crockpot as well. There is a browning feature that makes preparing meat very user friendly. The cookbook was very helpful for making our first meal which was the pork chop and red cabbage which came out amazing and would definitely recommend trying this recipe first for getting used to using a Pressure cooker. There is a digital display on the front that has up to nineteen different programming settings that can be used for different types of meals. This Pressure cooker crock pot senses the actual temperature inside the crock pot for a very precise cooking and altitude adjustments are not needed for this unit. This cooker has several safety mechanisms built right into the design to make it easy to use without the fear often associated with using the older style pressure cookers. The green locking mechanism is very helpful as it prevents you from opening it to soon and having an accidental release of hot steam. It gives you the ability to slowly release the pressure at the end of cooking as another added safety feature. I really like the fact it can be used as the Pressure cooker for when you need a fast meal prepared or just use it as a crockpot when you have all day to slow cook your favorite pot roast. It really is a happy addition to our household and would definitely recommend this product.

Many years ago I had a stovetop pressure cooker and this is nothing like that. The Presto Pressure Cooker Plus has the capacity to hold 6 quarts! That's huge! The technology is so advanced that the cooker can sense the temperature inside the pot! If you are new to pressure cooking you will be happy to know that cooking is 70% faster than the stovetop or oven. Setting and using the timer on the front of the Cooker was very easy. The actual cooking pot is removable and has a nonstick surface for easy cleaning! The outside of the cooker is a black stainless steel and looks good sitting on the counter. The Pressure Cooker Plus is so versatile. It can also be used as a slow cooker, a rice cooker and a steamer! Preparing a healthy meal for your family is now so quick and so easy! One of the meals I have prepared is the Traditional Beef Stew (recipe included in Instruction Booklet), and it tasted just like my mom's! So good! If you have any questions regarding your Pressure Cooker Plus, or need any parts, there are several ways to contact the company listed in the instruction booklet. The Presto Pressure Cooker Plus comes with a One Year Limited Warranty, which covers any defects in materials and workmanship.

PRESTO 6-QUART MULTI-USE PROGRAMMABLE PRESSURE COOKER PLUS Recently we received the PRESTO 6-quart Multi-use Programmable Pressure Cooker Plus through the Sparkreviewer program. The pressure cooker was well packed for shipping and arrived without any damage and arrived fully assembled. In all the years my wife and I have been married we have never owned a pressure cooker so this was to be a new experience for us. To us the instruction manual seemed a bit intimidating and I do understand the need for 2 pages of “Important safeguards” and “Warnings.” Being a 6-quart pressure cooker, it is a large cooker and it did take us a little while to figure out where we can use it in our small kitchen. But after moving a few things around temporarily we did find a spot. After unpacking the cooker we followed the instructions to clean the unit before using it. There is a nice picture of all the parts and how they fit together. On page 7 is an important safety reminder about the removable cooking pot. The unit should NEVER be used without the cooking pot and the outside of the removable pot should always be dry before putting it back in the unit. Also before opening the unit after cooking certain foods the unit should be rocked from side to side to disperse air bubbles. There is no need to hurry through the process because the pressure cooker cooks the food pretty fast. Our first cooking experience with the pressure cooker was with a little over a pound of fresh green beans. My wife added bacon and onions and for the juice she used a cup of chicken broth she had left over from another day. We figured that the High setting, which was 10 minutes, was a good starting point based on the instruction booklet. However, I was worried that 10 minutes for vegetables might be too long and would result in mushy green beans. I pressed the cancel button after 7 minutes and after rocking the unit from side to side and allowing the pressure to release, the green beans were done to perfection and tasted great. Our next cooking venture was two chicken quarters. We followed the instructions in the booklet and in 10 minutes enjoyed perfectly cooked chicken with our green beans. Cleaning up afterwards was easy. I have to honestly point out that there is still much to learn when it comes to all that we can do with the Presto Pressure Cooker. But I look forward to the experiences we will enjoy as we cook new dishes together. The PRESTO 6-QUART MULTI-USE PROGRAMMABLE PRESSURE COOKER PLUS gets a big “YES” from us.

I absolutely love this pressure cooker! The best thing I have ever had by so far when it comes to my kitchen appliances. It is a gorgeous black stainless steel, which I absolutely love, it looks so beautiful and chic. It is 6 quart, which means dinner for the whole family in NO time at all. I love that this pressure cooker has got a digital modern display which is quite large in size and is very easy to use and understand. There are multiple options for cooking in this cooker: Brown, Saulte, Keep warm, Slow cook, Ribs, Roast, Fish, Poultry, Stew, Soup, Beans, Desserts, Rice, Multigrain and Veggies. Each setting has got a set cooking time. I love using this pressure cooker for ribs and different meats, it cooked my ribs in less than 40 min and made them fall of the bone tender. While cooking you can always adjust the cooking time to less or more time. The cooker comes with an instruction book which also includes few recipes. So far I have used it 3 nights in a raw to cook my dinner and I absolutely love it The cooking bowl is stainless steel and very easy to wash. Whether you are on your own or have a family of 6 or more this pressure cooker will be a huge help to you every time, also a huge time saver. I most definitely recommend this product to all the shoppers, you will not be disappointed at all, this pressure cooker is an absolute must have.

The Presto Precise Pressure Cooker Plus is pretty cool. I never owned a pressure cooker before so I found this to be exciting. The 6 quart pot was a good size for a medium size roast. However, the roast I had was on the smaller size (2.5 pounds). There are multiple setting to cook a variety of foods. I picked the setting of roast for my roast (there is also a setting for brown for meats), which gave me a programmed time of 45 minutes. It did come out a little over cooked since I had a small roast. Now I know I should have adjusted the time to a lower amount of time. It will take a few times to get familiar with the cooker and the times to use but I will definitely keep experimenting with different foods. The only thing that I did not like about it is that the veggies I cooked had to be added later due to the different amount of time it took to cook. When I opened the pot to take out the roast and add the vegetables it dropped the temperature down so it took another 10 minutes to preheat again. It would have been easier to cook the vegetables on the stove or microwave and have the entire meal ready at the same time. Nevertheless, the cooker is a great appliance with great features and well made. It has the non-stick pot which makes the unit extremely easy to clean and I love the black stainless steel exterior. I look forward to experimenting this fall and winter with my Sunday dinners.

Let me preface this by saying my mom was terrified of pressure cookers, as a result I am scared of them. I read the directions about 4,500 times, then disassembled and cleaned. Reassembled. Briwnwd a chuck roast, removed it. Sauteed onions. Put roast bc ack in, followed by veggies and beef broth. Cooked as instructed. Meat was done by meat thermometer, but not for us Too tough. Cleaned easily. Can also be used as a crock pot. Which I would way rather use. My daughter says to cook a roast 15 minutes more than directed. I will just stick with my crockpot.
