I didn't like that the cheese didn't melt. When I left it for a little longer the bread burned. Wish it had grilling time options so the cheese will melt without burning the bread. What I liked about it was that I was able to warm up pizza in it. Also I was able to toast or grilled other types of food in it. Just not good for grilled cheese.

I like this little sandwich maker. Both sides of the sandwich maker heat up and there is an indicator light that turns green when it is ready. The instructions state that it takes 2-3 minutes for the sandwich to become golden brown and delicious (GBD), but I like my sandwiches to be a little more melty than that timeframe makes them, so I give them some extra time. I also find that clean up of this sandwich maker is a breeze; literally, all you have to do is wipe it down with a warm, soapy dish cloth and dry it. I don't like that I have to have all of bread buttered and the cheese or other goodies stacked and ready to go or the bottom piece of bread becomes GBD before the top piece of bread. There isn't a timer either, so you have to pay attention to the time or set another timer so that you don't burn your sandwich. Oh wait, wouldn't I have the same issues if cooking the sandwich in a pan on the stove? Yes, and it would take twice as long! I was able to purchase this while it was on sale and around $10, so I really have nothing to complain about. :) This is a great gadget to have in the kitchen.

Much easier than the ones that spilt the sandwiches in half also much easier to keep clean. Package also arrive about 2 days ahead of when promised.

I am very pleased with my Hamilton beach proctor silex sandwich maker,makes perfect grilled cheese sandwiches and its very easy to clean too,only takes a second. I recommend this item to anyone wanting a better way to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich

This thing heats up super fast and cooks grilled cheese in 90 seconds. I love this thing. No more waiting for a grill to heat up and having to turn the sandwich over. This sandwich maker has flat plates, doesn't get hot on the outside, and has rubber nubs on the bottom so it doesn't slide around on the countertop.

It makes the best grilled cheese sandwiches in about a minute. Even whole wheat bread get brown and toasty! The only problem I have is running out of cheese and bread!!
