I am only grinding roasts and such from the supermarket to make my own hamburg but it works very well. Yes it is noisy but it is a grinder. What do you expect?

Just used this grinder today to make potato sausage. It worked fine except the plunger (that you use to push the meat down) the cover kept coming off and there's not a good way to "hang onto" the plunger. They need a handle on it. Also the top "bowl" where you set the meat or whatever your grinding, wants to lift off the machine. They need a better way to fasten it to the machine. Also we did about 12 lbs of sausage and about 1/2 way or so the meat didn't want to go through very good. So it was disappointing that it go to be so "sluggish" after just 6 to 8 lbs. of sausage going through it. Other than that it worked good. But they need to change those things.

I purchased this grinder this year, for grinding venison. I couldn't be happier with the purchase I made. It grinds very fast, and does a superb job. I would highly recommend this grinder.

I had an older grinder and recently spent almost an hour grinding 12 lbs of deer meat. I got this grinder and I ground about 23 or 24 lbs of deer meat in 6 or 7 minutes. So yes it performs well, easy clean up and stores nicely. I can not say how long it will last because it is a recent purchase, but so far very happy!!!

I was looking for a heavy duty, but not professional grade grinding. I grind probably 50 lbs of venison meat once a year so i couldn't justify hundreds of dollars for something that will be in storage 364 days of the year. I got this grinder and started grinding roughly 40 lbs of slightly frozen venison front quarter meat which still had all the small tendons and silver skin attached because I'm lazy. I used the large and medium plates. Both ground just fine for my needs. It definitely bogged down a bit powering through tendon filled pieces being pressed in quickly but it never stopped. I wanted to see what it was capable of and was not disappointed. I had to clean the fat out three times but that's to be expected. After grinding all that there was no visible wear or anything concerning looking in the gears or screw area. I'd imagine a 400 dollar grinder could do it faster but I don't see any need for that. It took me probably two hours to set up, grind, wrap and refreeze all the meat which is plenty fast and that's grinding a lot of silver skin foreleg meat that's notoriously difficult to grind. Time will tell how long the gearbox holds up but it appears to have had no problems so far and at this price grinding another 50 lbs of meat will have me break even with paying a butcher to grind it for me.
