My husband and I were so excited to receive this machine, as also have a Delonghi Coffee Maker. We had really high expectations for the espresso, and it was pretty good. The main downside is that the setup takes over an hour, and even after the initial setup the directions state that the first few uses of the machine may not be completely satisfactory. I’ve used the machine several times at this point and it does produce a good espresso, but it just takes awhile to get there. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My new DeLonghi Dedica EC680 15-Bar Pump Espresso and Cappuccino Maker looks super sophisticated and somewhat difficult to operate but, as long as you follow the directions you will have a delicious cup of espresso or cappuccino. I have been using this for a couple weeks now and I am so in love with it! When I first received this I was so confused on how to use it. After reading the instructions I quickly learned. It only does espresso so you can make other drinks like lattes or cappuccinos which are so delicious. It also has a spout for hot water which is so awesome because I love to drink hot tea and it is instantly ready. When I turned the machine on it was hot and ready in like 10-20 seconds which is great for when your in a hurry. I would like to say that you will need a special cup for your espresso. I thought I would be able to just do espresso and move on, nope, no coffee cup would fit. Also I found it so much easier to use the ESE pods as they were already pre-packed and when it's done they are so much easier to get out. I have recommended this to every coffee lover I know. First off let me say it is such a joy to be able to make a quality cup of specialized coffee in my own home! From unboxing to setting up everything went very smoothly. Be prepared to read and follow the instructions for setting up your machine for the first time. It is a little time consuming but the instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Once your machine is programmed and prepped making that perfect cup of espresso is such a breeze. The frother is easy to use and froths up your milk for super creamy cappuccinos or whatever you would like to create. My husband and I pretty much spent the entire weekend creating our new favorite drinks. The machine heats the water up very fast so if you need a quick shot of espresso on your way out of the door in the morning this is definitely the machine you want. Clean up is also very quick and easy. I love the functionality and ease of use and I especially love the money I will be saving by doing our own fancy coffee drinks at home as opposed to going to the coffee shop every morning. I also want to add that the slim compact design is perfect for our small kitchen.

This could not be an easier machine to setup and use. Once we read the instructions and did the initial setup, we had a fresh cup of espresso in less than 5 minutes. Really like the large reservoir and the drip pan is super easy to clean. Product looks good - but buyers should know its mostly plastic or low quality metal. This machine is amazing for the price. Not that powerful but a lot better than cheaper machines that I had used. Looks awesome and is smaller than I thought- even has a cup warmer on top! You can spend much more money, but this machine does a great job. It makes a great espresso, makes steam for frothing milk and provides hot water throuh the steam fixture. Have a friend with a much more expensive Breville and he heats a tea kettle as his machine only provides steam. Have only used the machine for a few weeks,and hope it will continue to work as well as it has out of the box.
