Frigidaire (FGMO226NU) Gallery 1200 Watt Built-In Microwave Oven Reviews

I have this microwave for the past four weeks, and so far it works very well. It is not very fancy in the way that have lots of options, but it does reheat very well and we only use the microwave for that purpose. It is very quiet when it is operating, which it was a nice surprise. We installed in the cabinet with the trim kit, and it really looks very nice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We bought this to replace our excellent built in Sharp microwave which finally failed after many years of superior service and we chose the Frigidaire because Frigidaire has a good reputation, the unit is aesthetically pleasing and it fit into our kitchen cabinet. Our new microwave works well but the user interface is horrible and incredibly dated. Unlike the Sharp which had specific buttons for boiling water, defrosting muffins, sensor defrosting and many other uses, the Frigidaire has only minimal options. Reminds us our 1990 (ancient) Amana microwave. The user manual is not helpful and everything is trial and error. Second when microwaving is complete, the unit keeps sounding with a very loud and penetrating tone that insistently repeats seemingly forever. Secondly the door-opening button (see photo) wiggles when pushed and feels flimsy. We worry that it will eventually break. Finally, there was a slight dent on the mounting bracket for the trim kit. It didn't affect installation but suggests a lack of quality. We are learning to work around the dated controls and are hoping that our new microwave will be reliable for many years. Started using this in October. Loving it this far. We don't microwave a lot, but have found this to be very powerful. It fits into the cabinetry beautifully and discretely. Only pet peeve is that the end alert beep is VERY LOUD. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We had this house built and moved in on January 30th, 2020. The Builder provided all Frigidaire appliances, and overall, we have been very please with them. The microwave however, worked great for about two months when it tripped the breaker. I am an electrician, so I did some preliminary troubleshooting, and determined that the issue was in the unit itself. I registered the unit and called the suggested services tech for the repair. After several calls and texts, I didn't get one response. Finally, on one of my calls, the voicemail greeting explained that they were closed down to the current pandemic. I don't understand why that would prevent someone from calling me back with suggested alternatives. The website is of little help as well, as it appears to be more trying to sell me appliances that I already have registered with Frigidaire. Stuck mostly at home, not having a functioning microwave is an real inconvenience.

We selected the Frigidaire Gallery microwave as part of our new home build because of the stellar reputation of Frigidaire as well as the beautiful look of the pieces in our kitchen. The no-touch stainless look provides a great visual in our kitchen and serves us well with many hands on the appliances (large family). The microwave is 2.2 cu. ft. and that is an awesome amount of space to utilize. The microwave is incredibly ease to use. Very function-friendly and has a lot of built-in features. We are really happy with the looks and operation of our microwave. Warms up food so much faster then our previous microwaves. It really looks sharp built in with our oven. It's huge too. Just real happy with the purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We did a lot of research before choosing this Gallery 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Microwave for our kitchen makeover. What a value! It has exceeded expectations - cooks much faster than others we've had, is quiet when running, and large enough to heat larger items. I'd rate it 4 1/2 stars if I could. The only reasons that it did not rate at 5 stars are: 1) There is no way to close the door amost silently, and 2) the reminder that beeps when food is done heating can be a bit annoying - would prefer to be able to adjust the volume (lower) and change how long between repeats, including being able to disable it altogether. Looks great in our new kitchen and the stainless steel matches the adjacent Gallery counter-depth Frigidaire fridge we bought 2 years ago and that we absolutely love too!
