I would not buy or recommend G E products. I only owned the microwave for 18 mo and it died. I called GE and they did not stand behind their product. It was like oh well too bad

FEBRUARY 2017. I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE SIZE, HIGH QUALITY, USER FRIENDLY PROGRAMMING AND UPDATED STYLE OF MY GE BLACK IN COLOR MICROWAVE OVEN. IN 2004, I PURCHASED A WHITE IN COLOR GE MICROWAVE. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS OR ISSUES UNTIL I INADVERTENTLY BROKE THE PRESS BUTTON DOOR RELEASE HANDLE AND I CRACKED THE TURN STYLE ROTATING GLASS TRAY INSIDE. IF I WERE MORE CAREFUL AND NOT SO ROUGH MISUSING IT - MY WALMART GE MICROWAVE WOULD STILL BE WORKING. GE IS A HOUSEHOLD NAME AND A WELL PROVEN ESTABLISHED QUALITY BRAND THAT I TRUST. I WILL ALWAYS BUY GE MICROWAVES FROM WALMART! VERY AFFORDABLE $$$!! I THOROUGHLY RESEARCHED SEVERAL ONLINE RETAIL WEBSITES FOR PRICE POINT AND QUALITY REVIEWS. ONCE AGAIN WALMART's GE MICROWAVE WON MY HEART!! THANK YOU WALMART STORES AND GE COMPANY!!! GE PRODUCTS ARE VERY RELIABLE AND DEPENDABLE- LONG LASTING WITH WARRANTY AND GUARATEED QUALITY SERVICES AND PRODUCTS.

I've had the GE-1.4-cu-ft-Countertop-Microwave for a couple weeks now and I really like it. It's surprising how difficult it is to find a countertop microwave that had all of the features I was looking for at a reasonable price. This unit has a light that goes in when you open the door. (How can other units not have this basic feature?!?) The keypad is easy to read and use. It has a beeper that is not obnoxiously loud. While it does beep several times at the end of the cooking time, the beeping stops the moment you open the door. (So basic, but I love this!) It will also continue to beep at intervals if you haven't opened the door after cooking time is up. It has a nice, large cooking area and the turntable sits solidly in place. (Others I looked at would wobble and rattle) Overall this is a very nice microwave. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.

Basically I do like this microwave, the control panel is simple and easy to operate, it's fairly quiet, and it heats similar to the 1100 Watt (other brand) it replaced. The problem was, after 8 days of operating flawlessly the light bulb stopped working. Whether it was the bulb or a flaw in the circuitry is anyone's guess. I'd hoped it would be a quick fix so I decided to replace the bulb myself free-gratis hoping it was just the bulb, I felt there was no sense in going through the hassle of warranty claims for a $5 bulb. Upon inspection I discovered there's no easy way to simply change the bulb in this unit, one has to remove the entire outer shell in this model to change the light bulb, there is no access panel as in most other microwaves, there's a pop-out plate close by but I found out upon inspection that it's not an access to the bulb compartment, very poor engineering design IMO. So, I exchanged the entire unit (Thank You Wal-Mart for a hassle free exchange). I hope the first unit's problem was a fluke and not something I'll experience any time soon in the replacement unit. I would have given a 4 or 5 star rating without the problem I incurred but a 2 star rating is fair as far as I'm concerned, time will tell for the second unit's rating. If I experience no problems after a few months I'll revise or post a higher rating, like I said, I do like this microwave.

We bought this to replace a larger Panasonic model that stopped working in just less than three years. This microwave is midsize, about $100 cheaper and I couldnt be more pleased. I bought the inexpensive extended warranty, just in case, but so far it is fabulous. We don't notice any decrease in performance or power, and the medium size is fine. The loss of a lot of special features we never used was worth saving $100. This one is not bare bones either. We haven't even explored all of the things it will do yet! It is black, sleek, beautiful and I'm very pleased with it.

I have a space under the counter for the microwave that is almost 13" in height. The problem was finding a microwave to fit that height since most are so large now. I finally found this GE and bought it only because of its measurements. The turntable is slightly smaller than my old one but that's fine since I don't cook using the microwave (it easily holds a dinner plate to warm things up). I'm surprised at how quiet it is. It works great, is easy to operate, and best of all it fits in the space.

We've never owned a GE countertop microwave before, always had Panasonic. However, when our 2nd Panasonic went out on us after 2-3 yrs. We didn't want to buy the same brand at a more expensive price and have it go out in another 2-3 yrs. So, the search began. We came across this GE model online at Walmart. The price was right, and offered in store pick up. However, the 1st microwave was dented on the top left down it's left side. How could this happen when the box was packaged so well? We had to exchange it at another Walmart closer to our home. (The Walmart closer to our home didn't offer in store pick up). We got the 2nd microwave home, plugged it in. The power isn't quite sufficient enough to warm our food thoroughly from the inside. Maybe we're used to 1300 watts - 1200 watts? This one is 1100 watts. Oh, and my husband pointed out the the door latch seems like it'll break in a couple yrs. Interesting to see if this GE microwave lasts longer than 2-3 yrs. without the door latch breaking. We're crossing our fingers for a long lasting microwave.

I bought this as a replacement for the same model microwave I got 3 years ago. It suddenly stopped heating and I replaced it with the same model. Seems this level of microwaves last about three years and it is time to replace them. Easier and cheaper than paying repair bills. Good features for the money. I have all GE appliances in my kitchen and they are good quality. Not the best, but for the money, they are affordable and work well.

I paid $130 for this microwave & it only lasted 2 years. That's ridiculous. I expect more from a microwave at that price. Lasted just long enough for the warranty to expire. I would not buy a GE again. This microwave has minor mishaps off & on for the couple years I owned it until one day it sparked but continued to try and cook something I took it out and it was still frozen solid. The microwave had stopped working, My suggestion is to keep looking. Don't buy this microwave.
