This is a review of the Hamilton Beach 7 Quart Slow Cooker. This Slow Cooker is capable of holding a 7 pound chicken or a 5 pound roast. It has three temperature settings warm, low and high. It also has settings for cooking times in 2 hour increments from 2 hours to 10 hours. The base is stainless steel the crock pot itself is black with a glass lid. I like that the lid has a metal edging around it. I had another crock pot with a glass lid that did not have a metal edging and it chipped easily. I really liked that this pot is oval shaped because it holds food better than previous crock pots that I’ve owned which were round and taller than this one. I also like that this pot will automatically go to warm cycle for 12 hours after it completes the cooking time that was originally set. The cooking times are marked off in 2hr increments as I stated before, after the 2 hrs the timer moves down to the next mark etc. I used this pot and I love it! I also liked the fact that it cleaned up very easily. I would recommend this crock pot.

I was in the market for a programmable slow cooker (crock pot), and to my delight the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program that I’m a Member of offered this on for review. I must say that I really enjoy cooking with a crock pot as I am busy most days and this gives me an easy alternative to standing over the stove, baking, or broiling. Slow cooking also tenderizes the meats very well. This crock pot will do me tons of justice. With its’ temperature gauge (low, warm, high) and the different cook / times settings (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 hours) it’ll definitely change my life! It is constructed very nice and although I’ve used it only once since I received it [slow cook chicken with black beans, diced tomatoes, cilantro, etc - which turned out to be amazing]; it seems to be of very good quality. Let me know forget to mention……IT’S IDIOT PROOF!!! I’m very pleased that Walmart allowed me to test a product that I was in the market for and would have gladly paid for. Many thanks,

Firstly, this is my first slow cooker with a timer that automatically takes it from 'cook' mode to 'warm' mode. That function alone is totally awesome. I cooked a pork butt in the slow cooker and i expected it to have shut off when the cooking time was over, and was pleasantly surprised to come back inside and it was on warm !! The controls have 3 temp settings, warm, low & high. The timer function has 5 settings, 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 hours. Of course it has a removable cooking dish, glass lid & a pair of sturdy handles. Everything seems sturdy & made to last with this cooker. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this programmable slow cooker to friends or family. We're loving ours !!

This slow-cooker is replacing the old one that I broke the last time I used it. I missed having one, but kept forgetting to get another one. I got this 7 quart crockpot because of the the size. I chose one that is bigger than what I need. I like it because I don't need to fill it up, and I don't have to worry about it spilling out all over. I found that filling up smaller ones are more troublesome for me. Even though I don't normally feed many people, I do like having a bigger crockpot for when I do have all the family here. It is nice looking and looks good on my counter. It can be set to a warm, low or high cooking temperature. I like the digital settings, but really wish it had an up/down type selection to allow me to set a particular time to cook; say like 2 hours and 45 minutes. It only has settings of 2 hours apart from 2-10 hours. After the cook time is up, it will automatically switch to warm and shut off after a total of being ON 14 hours. I would prefer to have better "programming" ability. I would also like to have a timer on it to see how long it has cooked or how much time is left. That probably wasn't a factor in the design because most people aren't home while it's cooking. The cooking pot is heavy, but that's ok with me, it cooks great and cleans well. Be careful with the exterior, it's a little thin and I suspect it could dent pretty easily. I made a chicken soup for the first meal. I snapped a pic of the cooked chicken and forgot a pic of the finished soup. We were in too big a hurry to eat I guess! And it was great! Overall, I give it a high rating, and would recommend this slow cooker.

This is a huge slow cooker, like the entire-scout-troop-coming-to-dinner size, and that's why I got it, because I sometimes have to feed that many people. Browsing through slow cookers, though, I got very confused by all the electronics and tech-y type features and shied away from getting one till I saw this one. Looked fairly simple, only an on/off switch and three temperature settings and what looked like a programming panel for when to start and stop cooking, but the picture I was looking at was too blurry to see the exact wording. Well, got it anyway and figured it would do the job. How hard could it be to design a crock pot? Geez. But unpacking it, I noticed the first thing I didn't like. The cord length. It's about 24 inches, not long enough to reach the outlet from where I wanted to place the cooker on my counter, so I had to rearrange my counter space for one meal. Not a huge thing, but bothersome. You cannot plug this power-sucker into a power strip (at least not at my house) or it will trip it , so this was inconvenient. But here's what bugs me about this cooker. I noticed when I got ready to actually use it that I had three choices for cooking time: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 hours. That's it. Apparently, this cooker will be perfect for you if all your recipes have a cooking time of 2, 4, 6 8 or 10 hours. Yep. Well, mine said 5-6 hours, so I thought I'd better hit four, then come back and hit two, etc... because I didn't want to burn anything. Also have to manually change the temperature from "Lo" to "High" when it was time to do that, because this isn't as programmable as the word "programmable" would imply; the only thing you can program is the number of hours (in, of course, increments of even numbers only). So if you want a cooker that will start cooking your beef stew at 10:00 a.m., but you leave your house at 8:00 a.m., you are just out of luck here. The food tasted fine, so if you can put up with this oddly designed cooker, go for it. I just would pick one with a few more features, like odd-hour cooking times, if I had it to do all over again...

I chose the Hamilton Beach Programmable 7-Quart Slow Cooker and I love the size of this slow cooker. I have cooked several meals in it since it arrived and every meal turned out really well. Even my husband can use it with ease. He made chicken with frozen vegetables and it turned out so tasty. You can use less expensive cuts of meats and they turn out very tender. Lots of options for seasonings, whether just salt and pepper or herbs, etc. Great for low sodium cooking and making diabetic friendly meals. The cooker comes with an instruction booklet with a 1-800 number for questions or to order parts. Really nice features with three temperature settings (high, low, or warm). And when cooking time is up, it automatically shifts to warm. You can preset the time setting for 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 hours of cooking time. The cooker is large enough for a 7 pound chicken or 5 pound roast. As a safety precaution, the unit will not stay on for more than 14 hours of continuous cooking and warming time and will also shut off automatically. Simple to use. Turn unit on by pressing ON/OFF button and select the desired cooking temperature and adjust the cooking time by pressing the HOURS button. Easy clean up. The crock pot inside is dishwasher safe as is the lid. Just wipe off the base and you are good to go.

I received this 7 quart programmable oval shaped slow cooker/crock pot at no cost through the Wal Mart Spark Reviewer program in which I participate. I am delighted with this crock pot! It is stainless steel with black accents and the crock pot itself is made of heavy duty, beautifully black, stoneware. It has a Wraparound Element that provides even heating that I found to be a great feature. The stoneware pot and clear glass lid are removable and dishwasher safe. It is easy to clean. The programming is quick and simple. All you do is plug it in, press the on(/off) button, choose the temperature: low, medium, or high, and press the time button that allows you to choose 2,4,6,8,or 10 hours of cooking time. The hours countdown in 2 hour time increments as a display light indicates how many hours are left. As a safety feature, when cooking time is completed the slow cooker automatically switches to WARM and will remain there for 14 hours at which time it will shut off. This is a large crock pot, perfect size for a 7 lb chicken or 5 lb roast, ideal for any size meal for small to large families and great for socials or family reunions where you need a larger amount of food. Unfortunately, this model, #33473, does not come with a lid latch but one can be purchased by calling 800-851-8900 or @ www.hamiltonbeach.com. I plan on purchasing a lid latch/strap so I can easily make, and safely take, my incredible chicken & dumplings to my family reunion! The slow cooker is Made in China.

I was pretty excited to try out this slow cooker(aka crockpot) from Hamilton beach. it is a large capacity crock. the insert, which holds all the liquids and solids is made of a coated ceramic and is fairly heavy upon lifting, but all crock pots I ever knew of were all heavy anyway. it takes the thickness of the ceramic to keep the food from burning and also to hold the heat. I mean, any food will burn where there is any heat unless you have added the PROPER amount of liquids to cook with. this is a 7 quart programmable(extremely simple to use)slow cooker with a glass see thru cover. the handle on top of the cover doesn't seem to take on a lot of heat so that your are able to remove the lid without running for pot holders or dish towels. very convenient to me, especially if youre a busy person and on the move around the kitchen. I read the instructions first. it was basic. I stated this in my video(url included below)but the sun was in my eyes and there was a glare so that I couldn't see that the unit was already on. and I wasn't wearing my glasses. I figured I didn't need to wear my glassed because since this unit was THAT EASY to use. I just didn't count on glare in my eyes and I was standing on the side of the unit. anyway, the temps read... warm, low, high. for the time, just press the HOURS button and it will go to the first spot which is 2 hours. if you push the button again, it will move to the next spot which is 4 hours etc all the way up to 10 hours if you choose. there is the on/off button as well. when stirring, please remember to use either wood or plastic(Teflon). I didn't realize this and when I went to clean the ceramic insert, I noticed I had scratched the bottom a little. so, I made a chicken stew and put the cooker on high and before 5 hours, the entire amount was cooked. this slow cooker means business and steps right up to the plate(no pun intended). I am so looking forward to making other meals in it. people are using crockpots for making EVERYTHING. from pastas to desserts. this is going to be a lot of fun and save time too ! a clean looking, large, simple to use product ! what more could any cook want!

This is a great slow cooker. It holds up to 7 lbs. of chicken or a 5 lb. roast. It is a 7 qt. slow cooker. My old crock pot didn’t have the new features this one has. You can now not only choose the settings of warm, medium, and high; but, you can choose the timer on the cooker. The timer has some nice features. You can set it for 2 hr. increments for up to 12 hrs. (Ex: 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12.) It will then change to warm after 12 hrs. It will only stay on for 14 hrs. and it will then shut off for safety reasons. There are models that have a locking lid feature for carrying with you, but this model does not. I don’t think that’s a needed feature, as you are usually cooking it at home anyway. It has a black ceramic oval shaped insert that lifts out for easy cleaning (and is dishwasher safe but not on the sani-temp setting). It has shiny stainless steel sides surrounding heating element. I do think the metal feels a little thin and could be thicker. It feels like it could dent in fairly easily. That is the only reason I gave it a 4 star rating. This product makes cooking (especially if you work) much easier. You can prepare your food, put it right in the crock insert, and place it in the refrigerator until morning. Set the temperature and timer and off you go, or you can get work done at home while it’s cooking. I do wish they would have included a small crock pot cookbook with cooking ideas with this slow cooker. There were no cooking suggestions included. So, you will have to check your own cookbook for times and temperatures on slow cooker use. I was surprised no suggestions on times or meats were in the instruction book. I have found this product to also be great for keeping food warm for gatherings or buffets. You can make the food and keep large quantities warm, due to the great size of this slow cooker.

I am a huge fan of crock pots and so when I got this one I was really excited. I have never had a programmable crock pot before so this was new to me. The ease of use was wonderful. It was seriously as easy as pushing a button to turn it on warm, high or low and pushing a button to choose what hour increments you'd like. The settings for hours are nice but they only go in 2 hour increments so if you needed to cook for an odd number of hours that wouldn't be possible. The first thing I cooked with this crock was pulled pork and I set it on high for 6 hours and it was done in less than 5. It is very efficient and extremely easy to use. Also has a nice brushed steel and black outside and black crock which matches all my appliances which is also a huge plus. The only thing I think I would change if I could is to have a longer cord because the one it comes with is kind of short. Also to be able to choose how many hours to cook instead of just being able to select 2, 4, 6 hour increments etc. Overall I love the crockpot.
