Took 2 days to cook scalloped potatoes. Outside was hot enough to melt things close to it. Center of cooking food was much cooler than the edges of the food.

Very poor construction. Screws thru the bottom of base. Couldn't make gravy in it.

I chose a Hamilton because of it value. There a good product chose. And, they aren't that expensive. I can cook a whole pot of beans. And keep it on warmer and as my crew comes in the door. The food is always ready.

The cord was so short I had no place to plug it in. I wrote them a letter. My God--couldn't they afford more than a foot long cord. Waste of money.

Unpacked and it came with no instructions, no feet and I have a dinner to make tomorrow and no crock pot to make it in. Nice...totally disappointed. Apparently mine was taken apart for parts on others and then put back on the shelf for sale. Totally disappointed. Nice

This is a nice-sized slow cooker which is well-designed and simple to use. The six quart crock is a convenient size for a roast or chicken, and versatile enough to use for anything you would wish to cook in it. The oval shape of the crock makes it easy to distribute the ingredients evenly inside it. The handles on the sides and cover have textured grips which make it secure to pick up and move. This model has Low, High and Keep Warm settings, which you select with a dial. The stainless steel exterior and black crock and handles make the slow cooker attractive on any kitchen's counter. This slow cooker is not too heavy to move easily. I have cooked a roast and vegetables and also dried beans in this slow cooker so far. Both times, the food came out evenly and perfectly cooked, within the time frame I expected. Using the Keep Warm setting was helpful and convenient. Since the crock and lid can be cleaned in the dishwasher, clean-up is easy. I would recommend this model to anyone for its reliable performance, good looks and ease of use. This slow cooker is very basic. I just made a pot of chicken soup and it turned out delicious. It did everything that it advertised. There are no frills. If I were to get another slow cooker I would opt for more features and an automatic switch to warm. I made my soup when I was home all day but if I were to leave and go to work this cooker would not have turned automatically to warm and would keep cooking at the temperature that I had set it to. Did the job but I am left wanting more! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was used to my 32 year old slow cooker--heavy, though small. When I opened the box on the Hamilton Beach 6 qt cooker, I was struck by how light it was, though it is a larger capacity than my old one. Hmmm....is it flimsy?? Actually , no. The insert is solid. I cooked Thai soup to test it out. It works quietly, no steam escapes from the top edges, and it did a good job.I heard some clicking as the unit heated up but this is probably because it is brand new. The clicking stopped and the unit continued without any further sound. This is the plain version , so if you want the fancy top-securing straps and folding handles, you can upgrade to the other model but this serves the purpose. My only 2 requests would be for a longer cord and perhaps some recipes included. Neither request is a deal-breaker. I am very pleased with the unit. PS--- my older unit is also a Hamilton Beach Crock Watcher and it still works fine but now I have a bigger one!! Hamilton Beach rocks! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The is a nice slow cooker. It has the standard settings, High, Low, and Keep Warm, but it has an over-sized lid handle which I really liked. Being stainless steel it really looks good sitting on the counter top and is easy to keep clean. The first thing I made with it was a white chicken and corn chili, a recipe I got from Hamilton Beach, and it came out fantastic! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have used this 4 times and it has worked on all of the slow cooker recipes very well. Everything cooks evenly. I love being able to go off to work and the meal is done when I get home! This was also easily rinsed out and cleaned up very well in the dishwasher. I recommend this for anyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Hamilton Beach 6 Qt. Slow Cooker makes cooking such a pleasure. For years I used a slow cooker without a removable liner, so I was excited to upgrade to a slow cooker with a removable stoneware liner. This slow cooker is the perfect size. It was packed well, and has clear and easy to understand instructions. I like the fact there is only one control dial. Off, low, medium, high, and warm. Nothing is confusing! My first cooking adventure was a whole roasted chicken. A 6 lb. chicke fit nicely into the slow cooker, with room around the edges of chicken for vegetables. I filled the chicken cavity with carrot sticks, celery sticks, and sliced onions. I basted the chicken with some sugar free apricot and pineapple jam. I turned the slow cooker to low for two hours, then high for 3 hours, and then down to low for another 3 hours. The chicken was done perfectly, as you can see from the photo. Lovely brown skin, moist, and fall off the bone tender. The oval design of the slow cooker made it easy to remove the chicken "whole". I could probably have turned the cooker to warm for the last hour, but the temperature settings are very true on this slow cooker. Next up was 3 lbs. of chicken thighs with balsamic marinade. I used the high setting for 4 hours, and the chicken thighs were done perfectly. Juicy and succulent. The temperature settings on this remarkable slow cooker are very accurate. Cleanup was easy. Once I used a slow cooker bag, and the domed lid sealed well even with the slow cooker bag over the edges. For the chicken thighs I sprayed the stoneware with a bit of non-stick spray. Nothing stuck and cleanup was easy. This is one terrific product. You couldn't ask for a better slow cooker in terms of sizing, design, temperature accuracy, or ease of use. Definitely an asset to my kitchen! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
