In this day and age, it is terrible to think that you have to unplug this machine to change the setting on the coffee pot. It sucks.

I like the fact that when you pour the water in, it doesn't spill. The coffee is very quick to brew in the mornings, it also has a nice feature of making it bold. However, to program it for in the morning is a little difficult. It's easier just to turn it on, especially if their is different times, you need it started.

Would've gone for five, but dislike the fact the top will not stay open when adding coffee.

Coffee maker is not accurate. Pour correct amount of water. It shows more. Than I add the scoops accurately. When coffee is done, I don't get complete amount of coffee that I wanted and the amt shows a cup less. Confused. But it makes great coffee.

Our morning coffee is no longer hit and miss. This machine consistently measures out and displays how many scoops of coffee we are adding. If you are a fan of a bold cup of coffee, you can choose the bold brew option that gives you a stronger flavor. The digital display on the front of the machine is nice and big and easy to read. The water reservoir is on the front of the machine and makes it easy to see how much water you are adding. The only downsides were the fact that it is a bulkier machine and the lid does not stay up on its own when putting coffee in the machine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This coffee maker is the best I've ever had. From the first pot, right out of the box, it brews the smoothest tasting coffee. Community Coffee is the only brand that I use, which is high quality, and this coffee maker with it's TruCount feature takes the guess work out of the measurements. This is a big plus for me since I make a variety of different size pots throughout the week. It is also the first coffee maker that doesn't drip when the pot is removed to pour a cup. No scorched plate is a big deal for me. The only con that I can mention is that this coffee maker is a little noisy while it's brewing. Knowing that I will be enjoying a great cup of coffee soon cancels out the noise issue. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received this coffee pot without charge for my unbiased opinion. Pros You can set it for how strong you like your coffee, I like my coffee strong and this makes an excellent smooth cup of coffee. It's easy to use and has a clock so you can time your coffee for when you want it. Looks nice on my counter. Easy to clean.Shuts itself off in two hours in case you forget too. Carafe pours well. Cons It has a scale to measure your coffee but it seemed a bit off. It won't keep the coffee hot once done. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Hamilton Beach 12-Cup TruCount Coffee Maker is the best coffee maker I have ever owned. Never would have thought I could be so excited about a coffee maker this way. Making coffee is once again a joy; no worries of miscounting scoops due to the phone, doorbell, dog, children, or even the pot boiling over on the stove because this gem keeps count for you. Plus, you are sure to have that same great taste with each and every pot. An added bonus is that you can vary the richness of your brew with just a touch of a button instead of varying the amount of coffee grounds used. Most days I prefer a bold brew, but there are those days when I need a regular brew. Now I can even brew just a few cups for those morning when I am rushed and not able to enjoy a full pot of coffee. I love the carafe design; the handle is more comfortable than other brands I have owned especially now that I suffer from arthritis. I can hang onto this carafe much longer now. Thank you, Hamilton Beach, for having a “true” mess-free pour spout! A bigger bonus! Yes, there is more. Not only do you have the big 12-cup carafe, but you also have a water level window. I often get distracted when filling water into a coffee maker since I have to stop and rest or use a smaller vessel (due to arthritis again) to fill, thus causing me to lose track of how much water I have put in. Again, Hamilton Beach to the rescue! Icing on the cake! It is programable!!!!! It is digital, so you have your clock handy too. Now I can either make my coffee on the fly whenever I want, or prep it the night before and program to my coffee ready and waiting for me to pour when I get to the kitchen. I even program it during the day for when I have to take those afternoon snoozes, so I am always coffee ready. Again, just a matter of touching a few buttons. The digital display is big, easy to read, and pleasant to the eyes. Displays the time on your left and scale for grounds on your right. Scale is in scoops = tablespoons (2 scoops = 2 tablespoons). The filter basket holds up to 16 tablespoons. Don't forget to reset scale before adding your coffee! If you use a permanent filter, the manual states to use no more than 12 scoops. Also, if you are using decaf or flavored grounds use 1/3 less grounds to avoid an overflow of the filter. (I like to add a dash of ground cinnamon on top of my grounds before brewing). Safety…this gem shuts itself off after 2 hours with an Auto Shut-Off feature. No more asking yourself did I shut that coffee pot off or not, because Hamilton Beach has you covered. Do not worry if you are impatient and just cannot wait for the brewing to stop, there is also a pause and pour mechanism built into the filter basket to enable you to grab that cup of coffee before the cycle is complete. I use 6 scoops of coffee on the bold setting most of the time for a perfect cup of coffee. I am also ordering the optional water filter along with the package of 6 replacement filters. I am totally happy with this product and on top of it all it totally fits with my kitchen décor. As I own other items from Hamilton Beach I am certain this one too will join the ranks of “my tried and true” possessions. I hope it will last as long as my HB-blender that is 30 years old! I bought this as a Christmas gift, but our old one quit and I gave it to my husband early. He loves it, it is easy to use and much nicer than our old one.
