My wife and I are enjoying making homemade soups.
Some of the soups are chunky and require pureeing to get the right consistency.
The KitchenAid blender has sufficient power to do this type of work.

I'm so disappointed! With several interchangeable immersion blade heads and containers, it's an attractive package. In practice, these various blades are not necessary. The mini chopper container does not work well on herbs -- as did an older immersion blender/chopper of a different brand that I replace with this item. Some of the parts are metal and others are silver colored plastic and not very sturdy. I wish I could return this for something more basic that processes better. I bought this as an alternative to a blender, to puree soups and make smoothies. It works well but my two comments are that I wish there were slightly fewer pieces to deal with and, perhaps because I am petite and it's an issue of leverage because I have to hold my arm up above my shoulder to use this big tool, I find it is very heavy to hold up over a pot on the stove and is therefore somewhat tiring to use.
