The slicer works well . But the bolt that holds on the plastic drive sprocket will not turn out to replace the cracked drive sprocket. Also called customer service to order the sprocket & guess what you have to look online & find a sprocket because they have no reference number for it so you are on your own!!! What is wrong with this country a person used to be able to repair things . Now they want you to buy a new one. Look elsewhere that at least offers all of the parts . I wil never buy another nesco slicer.

Tried to have hope based off some reviews, but if you want to make jerky or slice anything thin DO NOT get this slicer, it will just push the meat around and shred it

Excellent device. only one draw back, it bogs down a bit when trying to slice a full round cheese. so ya gotta just go a little slower. other than that it does a really great job.

Good slicer. Hard to keep even slices, but with care and attention to detail, it can be done. You can't slice too fast, as the blade turns quite slowly. On the other hand, I don't slice in a hurry. Easy to disassemble and clean after use, so haven't noticed any cross-contamination. Belt drive is easy to maintain, quiet, and very dependable. Blade comes off quickly and easily, and goes back on just the same.

I sliced a roast beef like it was a hot knife through butter. My old slicer broke so I ordered this one. It came in only three days and I used it right away. A lot bigger than my old one and much easier to use. The handle made it easy to cut all of the roast beef without having to change a thing.

I've had this slicer for a few weeks and have cut sausage, cheese and roast beef. Slows down a bit with cheese, but does a great job. Also great on everything else I've tried. Cleaning is a good news/bad news thing. The parts come off so I can clean them in the sink, but they are a bit cumbersome. Despite what some others have said, I had no problem removing, cleaning and resetting the blade. They may have improved that aspect since the other comments. It says to turn it off for an hour after 10 minutes of use. I sliced three different cheeses and a 1 pound summer sausage, and only turned it off between jobs. No problem. Overall, this is a great slicer for home use.

Despite the good reviews, this was not a good purchase for me. I bought this for my husband for Christmas. A couple days later he tried to use it to slice beef for jerky and the blade was warped and not secure. My husband almost cut off his finger. I would not recommend this slicer.

We partial froze the meat we were making jerky with, so we could cut it 1/4 thick. This went right thru the meat and gave very uniform slices. We haven't used it for anything else yet. But we sure have made a lot of jerky. Even did some deer jerky for a hunter friend.

Like every slicer I can afford, I wish it had a longer throw so I could slice my bacon full length and I wish it ran at a higher speed but this slicer does exactly what it is supposed to do and it does it well. I like the ease of cleaning also. Simple to take apart and put back together

I was looking for something to slice top or bottom round beef roast, i/l/o paying $12 per pound at the deli, this is perfect. Had to play around with slice thickness no big deal. Clean up was easy. Looking forward to slicing cheeses & veggies. I did buy the 2 year extended warranty (how do you rate that Wal-Mart, seemed silly that you asked me to rate that as well)

Well packaged, fast delivery. I have sliced raw meats as well as cooked meats with no problem. Works great for veggies and hard cheeses as well. This motor will not bog down with any job I've put to it so far. Clean up is easy, no tools needed! The blade is VERY sharp so be careful. Suggest you read and follow the safety directions! Cuts the best jerky slices, and my family loves their jerky. It does not have a catch tray, but a plate at the rear works great. I've had many slicers over the years and this one is right up at the top. Best price I found was at Walmart, saved over 80.00 buying here over other on-line sites for the same slicer. I am very pleased with this purchase. You won't be disappointed!
