Panasonic 30 In. Wide Trim Kit for Panasonic's 2.2 Cu. Ft. Microwave Ovens - Stainless Steel Customer Reviews
As others report the plastic mounting hardware is very fragile. two pieces broke while trying to install them to the bracket. I contacted the Panasonic Customer Support number and encountered the same computer driven run around. Having called the Panasonic number I was transferred to a third party service department. Their computer referred me back to the Panasonic number and then hung up. I was finally able to contact Panasonic through tech support. They ran me through the problem and then asked for a copy of my receipt which I provided. They then emailed me and told me that the parts were not available, and that I should send everything back to the retailer. The retailer did not have another kit and could not provide replacement parts. I am currently waiting to hear back from them to see when they will have another kit available.

Just as another reviewer experienced, I too broke a plastic retainer clip and requested a replacement - can't be more than a .20c item. I was bounced around by their support 'help' (so-called) to various 800 numbers with no live answer at all. One of the voice prompts advised me to call the very same number I was calling on!! So their help is nonexistent - abysmal is too kind a word to use!

Broke a couple of the cheap plastic clips and was forced to buy a complete new kit to be able to mount it. Installation not designed well at all and overpriced compared to the original designs which were more attractive and better quality for the same or less money.

Used this to replace a micro-convection that died. It was easy to install and looks great. The microwave feels solid because of the slots the feet fit into. It covered the existing hole with no modifications.

The trim kit looks good, but the mounting is unnecessarily difficult. There is little flexibility in the dimensions of the cabinet opening required to mount the trim piece. Four hidden screws would have made it much easier.

I purchased a Panasonic NN-SD987S microwave expecting to install it using the trim kit shown in the operators manual but, like lots of things in life, it wasn't that easy. That trim kit was discontinued and no longer could be found through the internet. To make my story short, after several hours of internet searching, I found a Panasonic site with a chat window and got to an agent named Coleen M. She took the time to track down the substitute trim kit. The price of the trim kit was about the same as the microwave, but it worked and looks great.

This is a very good quality mounting system; the microwave vented output is redirected into the kitchen so there's no overheating. And it all matches nicely. My only problem had nothing to do with this product but with my (new) kitchen... the opening was wrong and I had to do a minor woodworking project to get everything ready.

This frame is almost impossible to put without tricks to center it. the four corners have to be exactly on the wood with the 4 huge plastic bumpers inserted to hold the frame. It is a very bad design. I throw away everything except the outside frame and center it with my imagination tricks. The outside look nice. But to put it, it is another story. Also, expect a big gap between the microwave and the frame.

I purchased this trim kit along with a model NN-SE982S microwave. According to the website, the height dimension for the opening is 15-5/16". This matched my opening, which is approximately that size. However, the kit does not fit that opening. The correct measurement for this kit is 17-3/8". Consequently, I was unable to use the trim portion of the kit, and instead used only the ductwork, and the trim from my old Panasonic oven instead. The incorrect dimensions on the website are the reason for my dissatisfaction with this product. Otherwise, the quality was fine.
