Small size was exactly what i needed for my boat. 700 watts might challenge my inverter but the time heating will be minimal. Price was very reasonable and shipping was fast. The face of the unit is red and the rest is black, i'm ok with that.

This microwave is as cheap as they come, but it works fine. I was worried that it was defective, because when microwaving for ten minutes straight the first time, it got quite warm on top, but I read up it on microwaves in general and that is not uncommon. This is most suitable for a dorm room or apartment, but I hate to give up counter space in my kitchen, so I get these cheap microwaves and they last me about 5 years until I do them in and have to replace them. Hopefully this will give me 5 years.
This microwave gives you express cook buttons from one to six minutes, as well as a thirty second button. Plus all the usual features. Recommended if you are looking for a small, bare-bones microwave with a limited lifespan.

My microwave, that matches the stove, went out and was going to take over a month to order. So I ordered this thinking I would put it in the bar later. If you microwave something, first of all it is very weak, second of all after you take the food out when you close the door, it comes back on. You have to unplug it to turn it off. The time is never correct as it has to be unplugged.

We bought this product June 2018 and it was useless by October 2019. I do not know what happened but we went to use it one morning it no longer worked. The light would come on and the plate would rotate but it did not cook anything. It stopped heating anything. We won’t buy this brand anymore.

I ordered this microwave to run off a generator, so every watt counts. The description clearly says "0.6 Cubic Feet, 600 Watt" in the first line. So I ordered it, thinking it consumed 600 watts of power. As soon as I pulled it out of the box, however, the back plate on the microwave itself states "Input 950 watts, output 600 watts" meaning that it produces 600 watts of microwaves inside the oven, but consumes 950 watts of power from the wall outlet.
Update: I did not realize that this discrepancy is true for all microwave ovens. They all have input power significantly higher than stated (output) power. You have to open the user manual to find the input power. Something definitely to be aware of, as I learned from this experience.

My previous microwave was purchased in 1998 so this one had different features. I really like it and it fits into my decor very nicely. The only thing it's missing is a 30 second button. i loved that feature on my old one... but this one is better looking and works fine. Also has a timer that can be set while cooking on the stove, which is a nice feature.

I run this on a GoalZero Lithium 1400 solar battery. It consumes about 900 watts when running (not the advertised 600). It consumes the same amount of power despite the mode (hi, med, low).
I used this in a solar-powered van conversion and it really helps with my traveling. From the ability to heat up leftovers to quickly making frozen burritos to softening potatoes, I use this thing more than my propane stove. What I like about it is that I don't have to fill up my propane when using it. I just use it for a couple minutes a day, and my solar panels restore the battery for tomorrow. Even if it runs for 10-15 minutes in a day it barely puts a dent in my solar capacity.

Oh I am sorry to leave that lousy one star on this review, but I cannot in honesty give this a higher mark. The one is because there is nothing lower, and also because it does have a great design. It is small and the two dials are simply to use. No searching for indecipherable numbers or figuring out the sequence for five minutes when you just want to heat your coffee in a hurry - grrrr. I read all the conflicting reviews on this and was won over by the ease of use argument, but did vaguely wonder if these were written by people who either did not use it themselves (this was the case with several) or who did not use it for long. I tried this for two solid weeks hoping for improvement; I really wanted this buy to be a success! Sad to say, however, the one I received was absolutely useless. It took longer to cook a frozen vegetable in this microwave than it did to cook it on the stove, including heating the stove and washing the pan. It took several minutes to heat a little cup of coffee. The turning wrack made a lot of noise and sounded like it didn't fit properly. In fact it seemed like the whole machine simply did not actually work as a microwave does. After two weeks I gave up and packed everything in the box and shipped it back. If you do buy this product save the packing materials! I now have my ratty old hand-me-down 20 years ago microwave back on the counter and it is working just fine. Keep what you have or get another brand. Hopefully they will improve the function of this microwave or incorporate the easy to use knobs on other models. As it is, this is a truly useless product. I am surprised Amazon still carries it.

Door latch broke on first use. Food was stuck inside and there is no way to manually open the door. The power stayed on even after the timer ran out to zero. Had to unplug it to get it to stop. Not even one use out of it.

I wish you didn't have to set the time every time you plug this in to get it to function. We bought it because it was small enough to hide away in a cabinet and not have plugged in all the time. It would also be nice if you didn't have to physically pull the door open as you're pressing the door release button but it gets the job done!

It works well. Solid. Quiet. Easy to read numbers/control panel. Interior capacity is very large. The light turns on when door is opened, making it easy to see inside. It fits perfectly under my cabinets and sits back nicely from counter's edge. I've used it to quickly defrost frozen chicken breasts, to reheat a cold sandwich, etc. and it works fine.
(My last microwave was also a Westinghouse, lasted 15 years and was still going strong, but the top of the compartment rusted - I didn't know to wipe it dry after use.) 'Hoping this one goes a good 15+ years too!

Got this to replace a 13 yr old Sharp .8 cf/800 watt whose carousel stopped rotating. Definitely prefer my old one! I have an 18" enclosed shelf so my choices were limited and also didn't want to spend a lot, but I should have. Well, lets just say it fits the shelf and it works so far but I am saving the box just in case. However, it is extremely lightweight and you either have to hold it down when opening/closing or have it up against a wall as it will move all over. It is slightly smaller than my old one and it makes a huge difference on the inside. The plastic carousel device and glass plate are tiny and lightweight and the plate won't stay on the carousel and slides all over bumping against the inside walls, which I consider a deign flaw. On a positive note, it does have some nice features and is fairly quiet. I don't expect it to last very long and certainly not 13 years but if I get 2 years out of it I'll be happy.

This microwave is garbage. Complete piece of garbage. After two months the turntable started squeaking, the noise is now intolerable. Only the highest setting works now also, turning down the power control is the same as no power at all. Timer doesn't seem to work either, setting it on a minute will go 2-3 minutes easily. Ridiculous waste of money. Taking it to Goodwill. Would NOT recommend.

Bought one of these for a cheap replacement microwave. It showed up DOA and I had to immediately ask for a return which was handled nicely by Amazon. Got the new one and it worked fine but within 45 days it now takes over twice as long to heat items to the same extent and seems to be losing power a little more every week. Did not even get 2 months of reliable service from this. Avoid at all costs and look for another make / model.

Built in microwave died unexpectedly; didn't feel like spending the time, money, effort to replace at this point. The Westinhouse does the job. Size is perfect for available space and does what we need - easy to use; basic instructions. Does tend to move but solved by putting a padded dish towel underneath. So far so good and likely would purchase again - can't beat the price.

This microwave works fine for what I wanted it for, which is only defrosting and reheating. It doesn't overcook or dry out the food the way our more powerful microwave did and it doesn' t take up much space on the counter, so I am pleased with it and actually like it better.
Update: I originally rated this 4 stars, however it broke (shorted out) after a year, so I am not happy about the quality. It wasn't expensive though, so I might replace it with another one since I really liked it until I hated it.
2d Update: I did get another one of these, but it broke after a few months. I have concluded this is total junk. Don't waste your money.

I purchased this as I have a small kitchen and cook for one. I thought that even though it's small, Westinghouse products have always been of good quality. This is not the case with this microwave. It is very slow, makes an odd sound as if it's dying and takes way too long to heat up even just a cup of coffee.

My purpose for buying this microwave oven is probably quite different than most of the people that have posted a review here. I wanted a microwave that I could use with my off grid solar system. At this time my solar system consists of 4 100 watt solar panels, a 40 amp mppt charge control, 4 105 amp hr deep cycle batteries wired in series and a 48 volt 1500 watt pure sine wave inverter. The inverter powers my 4.4 cubic ft compact refrigerator, 32 inch flat screen TV and laptop quite nicely. However an older digital 1100 watt microwave that I tried maxed out the inverter and batteries! Plus my inverter is designed to power down between loads which saves on precious energy. Using a microwave with digital controls would tend to keep the inverter powered up all the time unless it was unplugged after each use.
As a Prime member I ordered on a Thursday afternoon and received the microwave on Saturday morning. It arrived double boxed without any damage. Curious as to how it would work I heated room temperature water for a cup of coffee in about 2 minutes. Having read that this size microwave 600 watt won't pop popcorn. I found an "old" microwave bag that I had and set the microwave for 6 minutes. To my surprise the popcorn finished popping in about 4 minutes. I have had better (more tender) popcorn but most all of the kernels popped to good size. I plan to buy a fresh box of a better brand to see if I like that any better. For lunch I decided to microwave a frozen personal pizza that I had purchased when checking out the 1100 watt microwave. I stopped the microwave after about 4 minutes as the cheese seemed to be well melted. To my satisfaction the pizza was quite hot all the way though.
I don't have a digital AC watt meter at this time but the LED's on the inverter display around 900 watts when the microwave is in use. The load on my batteries seems quite acceptable and on a sunny day the batteries should soon be fully recharged. With the basic 2 knob controls I don't have to worry about unplugging this microwave between uses. Considering the very limited amount of time I have had to use this microwave. I feel it should be a nice addition to my off grid solar system!
Update: I have since checked the wattage while the Westinghouse WCM660W 600 watt microwave oven was in use using an inexpensive AC watt meter. The wattage ranged between 940 and 980 watts in several tests. There doesn't appear to be any surge on start as you would experience with a refrigerator.

After going to numerous big-box and large discount chains, I was unable to find a microwave with knobs instead of a touch pad. I ordered this as a replacement microwave for my 91-year-old mother. It did not disappoint. This microwave is perfect for seniors like my mother who has great difficulty with the vision and dexterity that are necessary to operate a touch pad. This one is so easy to use, with one knob for power and the other knob for time. It's small enough to not take up alot of counter space, but large enough to quickly heat up a dinner plate or fairly large bowl of food. This microwave isn't built for heavy-duty or complex cooking tasks, but it's just what I wanted and my mother is very comfortable with it. Again, it's a really good microwave for small spaces and perfect for those who want to keep things simple and safe.
