So when I received the package I was surprised at how light it was, I assumed a grinder this light was just going to be a disappointment but when I did get the chance to process some meat with it I was pleasantly surprised. I went through about 30 pounds of wild game without any sign of a problem, and I really like the idea of a foot pedal so it only runs when I want it to, very satisfied

Fresh pineapple juice, amazing brisket burgers, salsa in almost an instant and so much more. It is a little loud, but it works wonderfully. We couldn't be happier.

I used it this weekend to grind up a deer. It was fast and easy to use. I am very happy with the job it did. Much better than my last one. I can't wait to use the sausage stuffer attachment. We will be buying roasts and grind our own hamburger and save a little money since purchasing this machine. I would highly recommend it.

Grinding power is good but feeding the meat into the grinder is poorly designed. Consequently, this unit requires two people - one person to feed the meat into the grinder and one person to receive the sausage at the output. If you don't have someone helping the sausage feed out, you get irregular shapes and blowout of the skin. Also, because it requires two people, the process is slow causing your meat to warm up in the process. This is a bad thing....you want your meat as cold as can be above freezing when processing. If you're only going to make sausage 1 or 2 times a year this may an OK unit but for me, it makes it harder than it needs to be. Once completed, there was residue meat stuck between the feed tray and the feed to the auger.

We ground up about twelve packages of round roast (boneless), including some rather stringy fat. We froze the meat in one inch strips in such a way that some parts were not very frozen, while other parts were quite hard. The grinder handled it all. It would have gone faster with 1/2 inch strips (1 inch is about the maximum the opening can handle. We did this in two passes, one with the "wagonwheel" opening, and the following with the regular small grinding holes (not the smallest supplied). We are quite impressed and believe we purchased a winner.

I am hard to please, read mountains of reviews, considered price & decided upon this model. Extremely happy with the purchase. Grinds pork & deer meat faster than I can feed the hopper. Very Very Good using the sausage maker. Learning curve is small, works very well & I use natural casings. Extremely happy with the purchase. 1 bit of advice - do not even consider cheaply made products as they will frustrate you with increased level of difficulty & uneven results.

I just ground up 14 pounds of pork shoulder and 20 pounds of venison and not a single issue. I can't really understand the people on here saying it would not grind meat up? I'm pretty sure they didn't read the directions.

I make home cooked dog food(no bones), usually 30-35 lb batches. This grinder easily and efficiently handled grinding up cooked meats and veggies. Makes processing the home cooked dog food So Much Easier and much less time consuming. Definitely recommend this grinder.

I owned a meat grinder from this manufacturer that i used bimonthly to grind whole chicken quarters ( bone, skin, tendons, meat and all) and chicken organs for almost ten years, and it finally started dying on me so it was time to purchase a new one. I went with the same brand because I had such an amazing experience with my old one. I saw beforehand this machine wasn't recommended for bones, but id hoped it could at least handle tendons, cartilage, and skin. Huge mistake. The only thing this grinder can handle is boneless, skinless chicken breast. It cannot even grind chicken skin! it just clogs the mechanism within seconds. It also struggled with gizzards to the point where the motor almost stopped completely. I have used this machine for 2 months, hoping it would start to work better after the seemingly bogus "break in period" and now of course I can't return it, and am stuck with this horrible machine. Almost 200 dollars to mush up boneless skinless chicken breast....are you kidding? Trying to use this thing frustrates me to the point of tears, and I can't even afford to get a new one now because of the pandemic. Very disappointed, but I should have trusted he reviews. Do not waste your money! Buy literally anything else.

I've only used it 6 times so far, but so far, it does a really good grind, is fast and easy. i like the hopper size and feed tube size. and the consistency of the grind is store quality imo. i couldnt get that before with other grinders. it didnt jam or have any issues at all, though i did just use meats, chicken, beef and pork. easy to work with, easy to clean, nice short worm gear and fairly large throat for feeding and good tray size.

We took a day to grind some venison for our hunting group. We followed the directions and cubed all the venison and our fat before grinding. It worked great as long as all your meat is kept cold. No gumming up or bogging down on the machine. From there we washed and cooled down the machine, parts and all the ground meat before setting up the sausage stuffer. Admittedly, this was our first time attempting to stuff sausage so there was a learning curve we just assumed. However, the machine struggled to push meat through the tube and into casings, it just kept gumming up in the auger. Now we're on to plan B, which is eventually purchasing an actual meat stuff. Overall we're satisfied with the grinding aspect, but we won't plan to use this one for making sausage. Only other aspect that has us question the machine is the black grease produced at the back end of the auger. None of it got on the meat, but there's definitely a black grease produced by something in the machine. We'll look into it.

I just got done using this grinder today (Feb 2020) and thought I would see when I bought it. I see I bought it 2013. It has worked very well for me. I have used it for 3 elk, about 8 deer and 4-5 javelina. I have had no problems with it at all. My wife and I consider it one of our best purchases.

Can't handle thigh meat with skin; I spent more time using the reverse function and taking it apart to clear clogs than anyone should ever have to! I even freezer chilled it to get it ready. Sadly, not impressed and I am returning it and going back a poof processor instead.

Even the half frozen sinewy meat that we use in the dog stew with the wagon wheel blade.Beats chopping it up or pressure cooking it to beak it down before adding to the stew. Even threw a piece of heart through it and it didn't slow down. Cut my dog stew prep time way down. Even with the cleanup time for the grinder. Coarse blade works great for chili meat and other dishes like spaghetti. Did double grind starting with coarse grinder then fine grinder blade for burgers. Even tried some Montreal Steak seasoning sprinkled on some of the meat before grinding. Wife was very impressed.

I've been making sausage for about all my life, even helped my dad when I was a kid, so I know a thing or two about grinding meat and stuffing sausage. I'm 68 now and using the old hand crank grinder that my grandfather used just got a bit too much for me. I was skeptical about buying an electric grinder. My dad had a commercial grinder that we used, we made about 100 lbs at a time and I knew nothing out there would compare to that. After doing my research I purchased a STX Megaforce - Platinum Edition -"Patented Air Cooled" Electric Meat Grinder w/Foot Pedal & Sausage Stuffer. We just used it to make 16 lbs of sausage. All my wife and I could say is "Why the heck didn't we buy this thing years ago???" I didn't chill the meat to almost frozen as they suggested or cut it as small as they suggested and this machine ground the meat as fast as I could stuff it down the tube. When it came time to stuff the sausage that foot switch really came in handy because it would stuff the casings about as fast as my wife could manage it. Clean up was as easy as any other grinder that I ever used, hand washed everything, dried it, sprayed a little cooking oil on the plates and put it away for next time. I have nothing but good to say about this product.

Upon opening the box I was disappointed by the lightness and seemingly cheap looking components enough to request a return. But I needed a grinder so I tried it out … wow, this grinder works and the components cleaned up easily. The only reason it gets a 4 is because it would be a 5+ if it was dishwasher safe.

Does a good job grinding semi frozen meats. Got this to make venison sausage in 2019. Grinding the meat was easy. I found that cubes worked better than strips. With cubes i could regulate how much meat went into the chute at any time. With strips, once it started down the chute it all went at once and the motor had to work harder to continue grinding. Thought I was gonna pop a circuit breaker in my kitchen. I agree with the other review about making sausage being hard because the pusher is tapered in the chute. The ground meat squirts back up the chute as you push, and getting the pusher out took some pulling as vacuum held it in. When first assembled, there was a gap between the cast aluminum chute and the motor housing. When i tried grinding, the chute kept slipping out of the notches in the pastic bearing on the motor. Thought i was gonna have to return it, but the third time i pushed it back into place it mated all the way flush with the motor and worked fine after that. Not sure why it didnt mate at first. Overall I’m pleased with the performance and made over 100 polish deer sausages in 6 hours. Only thing wrong is the tapered feed chute and pusher. I’ll make a larger one out of wood to compensate, so should not be an issue next time, hopefully. A non-tapered chute would fix this issue. Highly recommend casings that are preloaded onto a tube and not natural hog. Hog casings smell so bad my wife was gagging at the sink and it took more time to thread the casings onto the tube than it did to grind and fill them. Oh yeah, one last thing; instructions warn about storing the blades and plates separately to prevent discoloration of the metal. The alloy used for the plates is prone to turn black if in contact with other metals, similar to silver tarnishing. I learned the hard way that the stainless kitchen sink will also turn the plates black. Doesnt affect the performance, just warning you to ALWAYS PUT THE PLATES ON A PLASTIC SURFACE after use and store in a ziplock bag after washing.

I really think this is closer to 5 stars but I've only used it for about 4 hours of grinding so far. I harvested a couple of small deer in Georgia and those critters have a lot of silver skin and connective tissue all over the place. For the first grind pile, I meticulously trimmed away everything I could, leaving virtually nothing but pure venison behind. After a few hours of this, I started the second grind pile by leaving some of the thinner silver skin strips and just trimming away the most egregious bits of "gunk". I wanted to see just how the grinder would handle that. As expected, the first pile - about 30 lbs, went fairly quickly. I ran it through the wagon wheel die first, then ran a few pounds of pork fat through and mixed it all up. Ran it through a second time with the large diameter hole die. Worked perfectly. First run on the low speed setting took about 10 minutes; second run on the low speed setting took a little longer, maybe 15-20 minutes. No clogging, no motor bogging. Worked flawlessly. The second batch with the little bits of imperfections also ran amazingly smooth. Took about the same amount of time, but I did have to disassemble the worm gear after the first run to remove the trapped bits of sinew and silver skin trapped behind the die. Easy to clean and reassemble for the second run. After the second run, the worm gear was still clean so I added some bacon to the mix and ran it a third time through the smallest die. Disassembly and clean up was easy. There are warning everywhere in the paperwork about making sure you clean and then DRY your parts. I got a little lazy on the drying part and there's a little discoloration on the dies after sitting overnight. I'd say after drying the dies, apply a light coat of vegetable oil. I could easily give this 5 stars but who knows?......Might just die next week. For now, it's a solid machine that does the job I bought it to do. Makes amazing, consistent, clean minced meat in a hurry

Excellent product, I bought it in November 2018 and took it to Venezuela. I am grinding an average of 50 Kg per month and the machine is like new, excellent cooling and without any problem, all its pieces of excellent quality and the blades like new. I am really very happy with this purchase and I dare to recommend this product widely in the security that they will enjoy a great team

This grinder has plenty of power for grinding any meat you wish to grind. The tray and auger are cast aluminum, not dishwasher safe, but I prefer to hand wash everything that comes into contact with raw meat. If you choose to stuff sausage, USE THE FOOT PEDAL, otherwise expect to have pate’. I didn’t rate the durability because a few dozen pounds is hardly a durability test. That will take time. Compared to brands that friends of mine own, it’s no louder and just as powerful as grinders for two times the price. Take care of it, like any tool, and it should take care of your needs.

If you're wanting a grinder that can process your hunt meat quickly and easily this is your guy.. this grinder chewed through 1 elk and 3 antelope in what I would only describe as record speed! it out worked brand name grinders that I had borrowed from friends that were twice as expensive.. If I could do a 10 * I would absolutely do it.. If you're looking to do a 100Lb or more of meat a year this is the only grinder I would consider..

Extremely impressed with the grinder. I was worried after reading reviews about it might be difficult to grind meat, that it might turn to mush. Not so. Ground 10lbs of beef that had been frozen. Just let it thaw a while in the fridge until switching to a cooler to speed that up. Easy to clean.

This grinder worked really well as long as I did my part. Ground 3 deer which were butchered by three different people, the meat that was completely void of silver and fat went through as fast as you could put it in the stuffer. any silver or fat slowed the process. The meat should be refrigerator temp for best results. Would buy this product again.

After multiple years of attempting to use my parents older electric grinder on venison, only to have it gum up with sinew constantly I did some research and purchased this grinder. It is listed in top reviews consistently on third party websites and for good reason. At only $150 this thing is a complete steal for the at home meat grinding enthusiast. A quick perusing of other outdoor sporting goods stores grinder will have your jaw on the floor at the prices. This little baby handled my 40 pounds of venison grind with ease and I was able to put together a nice pork butt/vension blend for my sausages. Assembly/disassembly and cleanup are a breeze. As of now the durability is the only area that remains to be tested. I hope it provides me years of use, but year one is 5 stars!

Just ground up 20 pounds of venison with the course grind plate. Never needed to push the meat down; it consumed it all by pulling down by itself. That only took about 10 minutes. Then mixed with 10 pounds of 27 percent fat beef burger using the fine grind plate. The result was unbelievable. Did everything in less than 30 minutes. With my venison dried first; not wet from cleaning, the result looked just like hamburger from a good meat market. Dry texture and not juicy. Never used reverse even once. Finally I vacuum sealed the resulting burger. Plenty of power; just a quality item that I'm sure is going to serve me well for years. Would never have imagined I could be this pleased.

The company said "reconditioned" but they had obviously not reconditioned it. This is a great machine, my son has had the exact same one for two years and it has worked great. Ad said that this was factory reconditioned. Motor was bad and obviously had been. Love the machine in general. Somebody has to look up the definition of "factory reconditioned."

I bought this machine last year for the purpose of making Italian Sausages . Today a couple of friends and I got together and made 30 pounds of sausage and stuffed them in natural casings. This machine is fantastic and made the job so easy and fun! The cleanup is a breeze. Very high quality and an excellent performer and product all the way around. I am the daughter of a professional meat cutter of 52 years in our family's grocery market and have been involved with making hundreds of pounds of sausage using commercial equipment...this meat grinder/stuffer for home use is perfect-highly recommended!

STX International is an awesome company. I've owned an STX-1800-MG for 4 years and was considering getting a newer machine and give my STX-1800-MG to a friend. I ordered this machine going on how great my old machine was... Boy was I wrong... This is by far a step down. The motor isn't as powerful, the machine feels like it struggles when it's grinding and it feels like the machine is staying with the meat longer than it should. If you consider grinding chicken, stay away from this grinder. It will chew the meat like its bubble gum. The grinder will get clogged with stuff like tendons, cartilage and skin, you will have to open it and clean it several times. A usual half hour grind on my older machine, took me over two hours and this is with a coarse grind plate. I had to use the sausage plate to avoid it getting clogged and that kind of worked. I also tried to partially freeze the chicken meat and that didn't help the situation one bit, and got clogged very very easily. This is not well designed. Buy a STX-1800-MG instead (great grinder, around the same price).

Durable components and helpful instructions which should be followed for wonderful grinding of meat quickly without problem. I have used it to grind venison as well as pork and beef. I found it helpful to use the wagon wheel grind followed be the coarse grind. Cutting the meat in 1" strips, placing on a cookie tray in freezer for 5 min. allows great grinding. Washing all parts in hot water, drying well with paper towels, and spray coating steels parts with a cooking oil spray ensures continued success.

I love this machine. We have made hamburger and sausage meat. I have no problem taking it apart, or putting it together and I put all the pieces in hot soapy water and they clean up quick. Just make sure you dry the blades quickly, the water will give them a quick surface rust. If you are not going to use them again for awhile, rub a tiny bit of cooking oil on them so, like you would for a cast iron skillet. This machine never bogs down. It goes so fast I can not cut the meat up fast enough. So I get the cutting board full and the top feeder full and the very last thing I put in is a piece of bread to get all the meat out of the blades before I take it apart to wash. I used the fine grind once, but the meat turned out like mush. I like the medium grind. It is loud, but it goes so fast you only have it on for like five minutes. We made 13 pounds of sausage in like ten minutes. I ran out of bowls to hold all the meat. I store the parts in the little free back packs that are given away by banks and such. The machine is not heavy and I carry it down and store it in my cellar until I need it again. I bought this bc the price of 90/10 beef was well over 4 dollars a pound and a huge beef bottom round was 3.50 a pound. You actually want fat in your burger for moisture and flavor, so don't cut it off and throw it out...use it.

I have only used it once so far, but, it performed great grinding 10 lbs of very chilled (partially frozen) boneless pork butts for a small batch of sausage. I was surprised how light the grinder was and it had no problem grinding as fast as I could load the pork strips into the machine. I also used the stuffer attachment with the slower speed and it also worked well.

Absolute garbage. None of the blades with it worked. When we used the blade from our old grinder, we were able to get it to do a little grinding at a time. Had to stop for frequent cleanouts. Had some little success with grinding through large plate first, then through the medium plate (the size we wanted). This was chicken, without the bones. I’d hate to think what it would have done with beef or venison. Will never buy another from this manufacturer. My old grinder, from Northern Industrial, lasted for 8 years. This didn’t work well even a single use. Now we get the hassle of cleaning it up, repacking and returning it.

I wanted a meat grinder because I refuse to pay $3.50 to $5.00 a pound for ground beef, so usually I just do without until it goes on sale. Originally, I was looking for a manual grinder (like my mom had when I was a kid), but my husband surprised me with this one at Christmas. The electric is SO much easier than manual. Found some eye round roasts on sale for $1.99 a pound! Bought four of them specifically to grind them up. Following the instructions to cut them into 1 inch strips and placing them in the freezer until they were "crispy" to the touch, I twice-ground them, first with the large disk, then with the smallest. I was delighted to see the meat come out looking as if the butcher in the grocery store had done it! The bonus with grinding your own is that you can put as much or as little fat into the mixture as you like. I'm not into sausage making, so I cannot comment on that. Also, cannot comment on durability; it's only a month old and I've used it only once so far. Have to wait for the meat to go on sale again! Hope it holds up for years. I would recommend this to a friend.

Not very happy, wish I had really used it more within the return period. I had a much older one, same size etc different manufacturer that out performed this one 10 to 1 until it finally died after many years of good performance. This machine bogs down easily. There seems to be a gap of some sort at the blade end of the auger and gets all bunched up, twisted on the shaft and requires frequent stops to clean it, and no this is not bone or anything that this machine should not be able to handle, simple, average cuts of a pork roast. If I could, I would pay return shipping to be rid of this and get something better.

Never bogged down once on the lowest setting (highest torque). Which by the way is all you will need to grind. Still working on perfecting the sausage stuffing. A good quality, well made piece of equipment.

The machine gets stuck all the time. I reversed and it ran another minute or less and stuck again. Now the blade does not spin at all without any meat in it. This is just the third time I used the machine. Each time I ground about 5 lbs of chicken. I do not recommend this machine.

I have decided that the "mass produced" ground beef, pork etc. that comes from the scraps of many animals is not what I want to eat. Too many chances for contamination. I bought this grinder so I can grind my own meat from a single roast that came from one animal. I was very pleased with the power and speed of this machine. Clean up was simple, but do follow the washing instructions. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We bought this to supplement our dogs food and grind chicken drumsticks. I paid extra because this model had the best reviews for the task. It struggles to grind everything. We tried fresh meat, struggles and jams. Semi frozen meat, struggles and jams. Frozen meat, struggles and jams. Vegetables, struggles and jams (though not as bad). Breasts, drumsticks. Everything is a struggle! Idk how people are getting such fantastic results! It's been a big pain for me. I gave up on grinding bones so I've been shearing frozen drumsticks which was is a real pain (especially with fibromyalgia). So far it does what I need for the most part so I can't completely complain. Just wish it worked for me the way everyone says it does for them. I even watched videos of people using it for drumsticks and it handles frozen ones like a dream. But alas, not for me.

I'm only going to give this machine a 2 star rating even though it is a good grinder. I've had this machine now for about 2 weeks and laboriously have made about 15 pounds of sausages. First it's very noisy and I wear hearing protection (ear muffs) while using it as it could cause permanent hearing damage if used for long periods of time. Once the meat has been ground its best to bring the meat temperature to nearly freezing otherwise it is very difficult to load ground meat through the machine to make sausages. The plunger is undersized and designed poorly, I could come up with a better design. When trying to push the ground meat with the plunger the meat just keeps squirting back up around the plunger and when pulling the plunger back out it creates suction now sucking out any meat below it while also lifting the machine of the countertop. Now you have a void creating an air lock when trying to introduce more meat. It is a good grinder and if that's all I was going to use it for I'd give it a 4 star rating.

I bought this product not even 2 years ago and used it maybe twice a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. Made sausages mainly, the machine worked absolutely in my favor, Loved it, did a great job every single time. I could not have been more satisfied up until today. Tried to grind some meat and the engine just quit on me for not apparent reason. Pretty frustrating since I got used to the machine and accustomed to making my own brats. Very unhappy, the machine is not really cheap and supposed to last. This actually sucks pretty bad :-( Please read follow up. I am a happy camper again

Very impressed with this machine. We used it to process husband's elk and it worked beautifully and quickly! We are very happy with it, especially with that it was so affordable compared to some of the other grinders we looked at.

So I have only used it once now, but this is a must have for any outdoorsman. It chews up frozen deer into burger with no issues. When if you have some sinew still on the meat. Not only does it work great, it is super fast, easy to clean and awesome power. The only way to get a better machine is to spend 600 to 1200 on a big commercial model.. can't say enough about this mega force 3000

Amazing grinder! I was unsure, at the pricepoint, this would handle our wild game workload. We purchased this grinder early October 2016. Since then we processed 2 bull elk, 4 deer and some store meat. Single grind, double grind, coarse, fine, made sausage and not a single problem. Temperatures varied from 60s to 20s, F, during use. Ran it for 4-6 hours consecutively for 3 days straight. No issues. Love it!

My kit did not contain the sausage stuffing tubes and attachment. There was not a place in the box for them and the box was sealed so I suspect the description is no longer accurate. Hopper, grinding blades, plates, tube and worm all appear to be excellent quality. Motor unit is looking get weight. Silver plated plastic trim on motor unit. No way this light weight unit pulls 3000 Watts as advertised. It ran well course grinding a deer, but it is not commercial grade, heavy duty, or 3000 watts. Price would be fair if it included the sausage stuffer parts as advertised.

Ran 40+ pounds of meat through this bad boy. Grinds and stuffs great. Some of the reviews get a little carried away when they say you can't slow it down, or it pulls the meat in without aid of a push stick. The reason I deducted a star was for the chicken s*** light duty plastic push stick and sausage stuffing tubes. I've seen heavier duty attachments on $90 machines. Disappointed that they did so well with the machine and cheaper out on the accessories.

I purchased this meat grinder after becoming concerned because none of the grocery stores near me grind their own hamburger. I prefer ground round and now I can only find it in tubes that you can't see it. I purchased 2 of these Although it was supposed to be lean it cooked down with so much shrinkage and grease it was terrible. After some research I learned that a package of ground beef could come from as many as 100 cows. I found this to be terrifying. I purchased a chuck roast and a sirloin tip roast on sell. The chuck roast is better because there is some fat. The butcher at Fresh Thyme Farmers Market cut off the excess fat and connective tissue for me...I cut them in 1 inch strips and froze them for 30 minutes. I double ground the meat. They flavor was delicious and there was almost no shrinkage Since the meat was on sale I ended up paying $6.25 a pound. The 1 pound of ground round in the tube was $5.99 a pound. There was no comparison in the quality. I watched several You Tube videos that really helped me. The time that it takes is definitely worth it to know what I am eating. I purchased this grinder because of the good reviews. I is easy to use. I would definitely recommend it.

Super grinder. It cut our processing time 10 fold over using the meat grinder on our KitchenAid. Very well build and easy to clean. The course disk was perfect for Italian Sausage. Also comes with other smaller grinding disks should you want them. Very powerful, never bogs down. An excellent machine

1st time meat grinder user here. This was very easy to figure out how to use. It was also fairly easy to clean. I use this for making my dog's food. It does grind small bones, although as the directions state, it is best to grind them partially frozen. It works better that way. I have no complaints. It is of good quality and Amazon offers an extended warranty which I purchased just in case. I would recommend this grinder. I really like it!

This has plenty of power for home use; we make all our own ground meat now with it. This grinder is fast! It is easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning and storage. The working parts are very robust and well finished. The blades are hard steel, so you have to lube them with olive oil or something between uses to prevent rust--that's an OK trade-off for hard, sharp blades in my book. The motor housing end seems very light, but today's motors are all light, I guess, compared to what I grew up with. The two speed settings and reverse are very nice to have. I comes with a good selection of blades, sausage filler tubes, and a kibbeh thingy - someday I'll have to try kibbeh and see what it is.

LOVE THIS! We grind raw chicken, bone and all to feed our dogs. Been using it since may. No problems at all. Very simple to take apart, clean and put back together. Only thing you need to do is cut any bigger pieces down to fit down the hole to the auger and blades. Highly recommend this product for raw feeding pets.

I was trying to decide between an LEM and this machine and decided to spend the bit more and go for this one. Made the first batch of sausage today. Ground up some pork butt and some belly fat. The grinder chew threw all of it and made short work of the process. Even used the stuffing tube to stuff the sausage with. Have made sausage once in the past, by chopping up the meat by hand and stuffing it in the casing through a funnel. Let me just say that this is a joy to use compared to hand stuffing. Quality of the grind was very impressive. I will never buy packaged ground meat again. Would recommend this if you are looking to grind your own meat for sausages of just use it to make ground meat.

Got it at 7pm tonight, and was done grinding the whole deer and cleaned up by 8:30pm, Super easy to assemble, grinds great. It will grind faster than I could put it in. FYI its hand wash only, but that's ok because its easy to take apart and clean. Ground 30 pounds of venison in less than 20 minutes, It never clogged up or choked. Very pleased!!!

We have used this grinder twice now for grinding up frozen chicken for raw dog food. I just cannot believe how this machine just ground right through frozen chicken legs and thighs, bone and all without even breaking a sweat! The first time we used it, we got ahead of ourselves and the chicken started thawing out too much. That just doesn't work when grinding it. We ended up re-freezing half of the leg quarters for another day! If you want to try this, make sure that the chicken stays pretty frozen. You will need a meat cleaver and hammer as well. We used chicken leg quarters and chopped them into 3-4 pieces before grinding so they would fit down the tube. Get everything organized and move right along with your grinding so as not to let the meat thaw while grinding. If it gets too soft, it will not grind! I cannot stress this enough. We moved through ten pound packages of chicken quarters so fast, it was hard to believe we got done so fast. Love this machine and the dogs love the chicken. We are very happy to save tons of $$ not buying raw 'processed' food from the pet supply stores. We do feed dry kibble along with the raw, not solely a raw diet.

Wow, really surprised how well this works. Surprising because it's relatively light weight but don't be fooled. The cast aluminum is in all the right places. We almost bought a slightly less expensive version of this brand but saw that this one had a cooling fan in the motor for only $20 more. Were hoping it will lengthen the life. (Hot motor might wear more, but just my theory) Makes a great grind of our deer which is all we really wanted. Looking forward to trying our hand at sausage stuffing too.

This grinder works awesome. I've had this for about a year and finally decided to do a review. I mostly use this for grinding up and stuffing pork to make homemade bratwursts. I think I've done ~40 or 50lbs of meat and this grinder is a very well built machine. It can easily do 20lbs of meet in less than 5 minutes. I'm sure I slowest part of the processes. Make sure to use the largest opening plate when stuffing sausages. The instructions show using the medium size plate, but I wouldn't recommend this. It's way too slow, unnecessarily reduces the grindings from course to paste, and it eventually gets clogged. If you really want fine ground, I would start with the smallest plate and run it through twice before stuffing. If I'm lucky I'll get to try some venison through the grinder is a couple weeks. To sum up, very happy and satisfied with my purchase.

This Grinder for the Home Butcher/Cook is outstanding! It has all the power that you need for grinding tougher cuts for ground beef or pork butt for sausage. The grinder plate and knives are very sharp and of professional quality! The very easy control buttons allow you to start stuffing your sausage, stop at the desired link size , twist and start again! I suggest you clean and sanitized all parts as soon as possible after use as seasoned pork will stick to the auger housing / grinder head . I recommend using bottle brushes to clean the hard to get at spots ! All and all a great grinder and that opinion is backed up by my 49 years as a Butcher !

I had purchased a different meat grinder for $70 on Amazon for grinding chicken, bones and all, to make dog food. Had a hard time the first 2 times I used it because it would get clogged where the cutting blades were with small bits of bone and skin. So I had planned on returning it, and I bought this one for $190, thinking it would be better or more powerful. Boy was I wrong, this grinder shuts off every few seconds, so I unpacked the original grinder and started grinding away. Before it arrived I was reading reviews and learned if your chicken is somewhat frozen it grinds much easier, so I had cut all chicken to size and put in the freezer for about 3 or 4 hrs. The cheaper grinder out preformed this one by a mile

Simple, rugged, well designed. This grinder went through 5 pounds of pork shoulder in about 10 minutes on my first try! That was on the lower speed, the fine disk and I had cut the meat into strips, not cubes! Good fit, finish and the instructions are simple but concise. I recommend this machine highly.

I was a little intimidated by the idea of grinding my own meat, but this product made it easy and fun. Buy chuck roasts at your grocery store and grind your own hamburger and never worry about the safety / quality of your ground beef. Also great to use for making sausage and will also work to stuff casings.

This machine is great! PLUS to customer service at Mercantile Station 2 is beyond 5 stars. If you are looking for a home meat grinder that does just about everything you can think of: dog food (frozen chicken legs/gizzards/etc), Sausages (14 lbs pork shoulder/seasonings) this is just what you need. I have completed both of the above and do not have a single complaint. Next on the list is fresh ground beef and lamb, just waiting for some room in the fridge/freezer. Honestly this is one of the best purchases I have made and will get full use for years to come.

I ground 40 lbs of deer meat in less than 12 minutes. It never even slowed down and I never had to use the reverse on a clog up. Clean up was as easy as described and only took a few minutes. It worked circles around my last much more expensive machine. Any machine that go through 40 lbs of deer meat that fast is tops in by book. I could have used an extra pair of hands as I couldn't keep up with it.

I generally do not invest the time and energy to write reviews on products that I purchase (this is a flaw that I am genuinely making an effort to change, since I do value the reviews of others when making a purchase); however this grinder mandated a response. As this is my first experience with grinding, I spent a lot of hours researching material, reading reviews, and sifting through questions and answers about all sorts of grinders. My intention for purchasing a grinder was for raw feeding my dogs. Although there were many mixed reviews on this product concerning this grinders ability to grind chicken bones, I took a chance and purchased the Megaforce 3000. Let me just say that I AM ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT ANY HESITATION OR RESERVATION, SATISFIED WITH THIS GRINDER FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAW FEEDING MY DOGS! This grinder chewed through LARGE frozen chicken thighs and legs (INCLUDING THE BONES) without a hiccup. I was amazed with the speed and power of how this grinder handled the job with ease. It is important to know, if you are going to grind bones in the Megaforce 3000, you should use the Sausage Stuffer grinding plate (the three slotted plate). The wagon wheel plate worked as well, but it took more effort from the grinder to get the bones through. The 1/4" plate required the grinder to work extremely hard, and I stopped grinding with this plate after about 3lbs of chicken and returned to the sausage stuffer plate (only because I was afraid of damaging the machine, the grinder would have probably kept going if I had continued). I did not attempt to try the 5/32" plate (perfect meat only, but I don't recommend it for bones). To sum it up, this grinder is a GREAT buy for any of your grinding needs. If it can fit through the feeding neck of the grinding head, this machine will chew it up. Just be mindful that the sausage stuffing plate (or the largest grinding plate) is the best option for grinding if you are raw feeding your animals. The consistency of the ground product with this plate is very coarse; but if you like it more fine, then just run it through a second time with a smaller plate. I believe the Turboforce will work just as good, but the Turboforce is not air cooled and it does not include the sausage stuffer plate with your purchase. I sincerely hope that this review puts to rest any doubts about the Megaforce 3000's ability to grind, not just bones, but anything you can feed it. If you are on the fence about the purchase, take a little advice from the NIKE Corp, "JUST DO IT".

We bought this grinder with the intention of making our own cat food. The grinder came well packaged and thankfully was not too heavy like some grinders can be. The body color was white with a slight purple tinge to it, didn't bug me. The hardware was all solid and along with the detailed instructions, helped a newbie like me put everything together with ease. For our first grind, I pre-washed the grinding plates, auger and blade then put about 4 pounds of chicken leg quarters through that were chilled. The machine was surprisingly quiet, I would compare it to the sound a small vacuum makes. The kitties didn't seem too bothered by it but they did stay out of the kitchen while we were grinding. It ground everything with ease, had a small issue with some of the tendons jamming up the auger which we had to clear out once but other than that it handled the rest of the meat and bone like nothing. Really impressed with this and I can't wait to use it more. Cleanup was a piece of cake!

To start I would like to say that I am very impressed with the company that represents this product. I called 1 1/2 hours after they were closed and the office manager still answered and took the time to help me with all of my questions and gave me wonderful input. I used it to make venison sausage and it worked better than expected. I ground 55 lbs. of venison and pork butt in about 17 minutes. The sausage stuffer worked well also. I was very pleasantly surprised to get the beaner plate which works much better than the wagon wheel plate. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. It was a pleasure to use. I am very happy with this product and it is worth every penny to purchase. Thanks from Erie, PA

This grinder is the best one I've ever used in the kitchen. Wish the blades were stainless though. I use mine mostly to make ground beef from discounted beef cuts at the grocery. You end up with lower fat ground beef that lasts longer. I haven't been able to bog down the motor yet. It takes whatever I send down the tube. Be aware that you shouldn't use bleach in the dishwater when you wash by hand (as I did) this will discolor the shiny appearance. You cannot wash the attachments in the dishwasher. When I store the attachments I put wrap them in brown paper and put them in a ziploc bag with a small bag of those crystals that absorb moisture which come with a lot of products these days. To make sausages I wish the instruction book was a little more clear on that process, but I managed that a couple of times and it went well. Overall a great grinder.

Fantastic meat grinder. This year, I ground up two deer with no problems. The MegaForce 3000 powered through it with no issues. A couple things: DO ensure the meat is ALMOST frozen before grinding and, most importantly, ensure the flat end of the little "star shaped blade" is facing back into the meat grinder. I had BIG problems before reading that hint in another review. Someone who works for the company had posted that hint and it IMMEDIATELY made the difference in this grinder's performance.

I am a dog owner of two boxer puppies and recently switched my pets to BARF diet. At first, I was using the Ninja to grind chicken bones...seriously. But when I noticed the immediate change on my dogs well being, it's time for me to get a serious grinder that does the work in less than half the time. But before I spend my hard earned $$$, I always rely on feedbacks and reviews of a product from real people with real experience and not from any sales gimmick. So when I got my STX Megaforce, I made the mistake of most of 1st time buyers.... Not reading the product brochure instead I relied on my mechanical instinct (sure). I called the customer service number and spoke to Jim who was more than happy to help me with my dilemma ( keeps bogging down) Here's the deal....once you unload your grinder, immediately wash all parts in hot soapy water and dry. Assembly is easy as ABC, just make sure that the sharp edges of the blade is facing towards you. Use the wheel barrel plate for grinding chicken backs and you won't have any problems w/ the grinder bogging down on you". I was able to grind over 20 lbs of frozen chicken backs w/ no problems. So if you are having any issues with the STX megaforce, call Jim @ the Mercantile Station (402) 742-2586 and Yes, you don't have to go on a queu or get routed to the next available customer service. Jim is the person you want to speak with. So before you make that horrible mistake of writing a nasty review or feedback, don't be an impatient jerk. Help is just a phone call away. BTW, I am a paying customer not a paid customer. And I'm absolutely happy with my grinder!

This is a very nice machine. It arrived well ahead of when I had expected it, well-packaged, and in perfect condition. I've barely used it, but so far, I've found it to be very easy and pleasant to use. I was already familiar with the fact that grinder plates are hardened steel rather than stainless steel (probably because the two types perform differently and hardened steel is better for the given function), and have to be washed by hand and dried immediately. Since I fully expected that, however, I don't consider it to be a drawback. Same goes for the cast aluminum parts: expected, so not a problem. I hand-wash anything I have that's good quality anyway. The casing is very smooth and should be very easy to clean, based upon my experiences with similar materials. So, in my opinion, the quality of the components seems to be excellent. I intend to get a great deal of use out of it, so I'll try to remember to update my review after I've used it a while. The manual is, as others have noted, pretty minimal - but then, it's a meat grinder, not rocket science. I admittedly was a little confused by what is evidently the kubbe attachment, since I wasn't familiar with kubbe - so I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it sounds like something interesting and delicious to try!

After hearing about what grocery store hamburger has added to it, we decided to make our own ground beef. I looked at many different models of grinders,on many different web sites. We decided on the Megaforce because of the 3000 watts and the air cooling. We tried chuck steak first for grinding and the machine did a awesome job. We froze the meat (took the meat out about 30 minutes before using it) and cut it in strips. Process was a breeze, along with clean-up. The unit is not very loud. The price is good for what we wanted.

This grinder is perfect for hamburger, sausage and general household use. FAR superior to the Kitchen Aid grinder attachment which got me started on this grinding path. The three dies that come with the machine are perfectly functional and while one must care properly for them, as well as the other metallic parts, that is to be expected with any tool. Plainly and simply stated, I believe this grinder to be an excellent value at this price point. I recommend it for normal household use. Now for the limitations. A brief back-story ... after a lengthy search for a solution to our concerns about feeding our three large dogs (2 labs & a German Shorthaired Pointer)the worthless kibble foisted on the public by clever advertising, we researched the BARF diet (no kidding) and elected to try our hand at it. Once a month we buy the meat: mis-cut chicken breasts, backs, necks, gizzards, livers, carrots, spinach, broccoli, beef heart occasionally ... yes, I know, the veggies aren't meat. As long as everything is partially frozen and adequately prepped, this little grinder works fine. However, when we grind, mix, weigh, package and freeze in daily portions to dole out as needed, we must process 130 lbs. of various meats and they are not always perfectly prepped. The result is that while the meat processes as expected and the veggies go through without pause, the bones (an essential part of this diet) and cartilage get backed up behind the grinding plate requiring a partial dis-assembly, blockage cleaning and re-assembly. We are going to upgrade with a different auger/cutter and more powerful motor (and a lot more money). By the way ... The dogs are thriving on this diet. Gone are the pills, bad breath, plaque, scratching, skin problems and yard land-mines (yeah you know what I'm saying) as they process and use their food now. No trips to the Vet to counteract what the kibble was causing. Their coats are lustrous now and they are VERY happy at meal time. So, there ya go ...

I have been using this STX MEGAFORCE 3000 with cowl air induction cooling system for several weeks now. I had been using a grinder from a butchers shop. the only difference in the butcher shop grinder and the STX MEGAFORCE 3000 with cowl air induction cooling system is the smaller size of the tube that feeds the grind. Performance wise they are the same. I weekly use the STX MEGAFORCE 3000 with cowl air induction cooling system to grind chicken leg quarters and necks for pet food, turkey, pork, and beef for my ground meats, and also any wild game (if I can find anyone to donate it to me. I grind approx. 60 pounds of meat a week. The performance of the STX MEGAFORCE 3000 with cowl air induction cooling system is outstanding. You won't regret your purchase. Not even mentioning the price is incredible.

Bought one of these for general kitchen use, just for the occasional grinding job, not having a clue how often I would actually be using this thing. I've easily run 200# of different grades/types of meat through this grinder. As long as I do my part and keep the meat at a partially frozen state it is a work horse and I can't feed the meat in fast enough. I've saved I don't know how much money by grinding my own chuck for meals. This thing is built like a tank, rock solid. I have yet to even have it slow down when grinding through even the smallest of the plates that comes with it. I don't know if the cowl is truly necessary, but, it sure isn't going to hurt the performance, and I'm enough of a nerd and gearhead to get a kick out having a cowl induction meat grinder. It's less noisy than other models I've looked at. Sure it makes noise, but, really not much more than my food slicer. Walk out of the kitchen and it's hardly noticeable. Can't wait for November deer season to do my own sausages and ground meat rather than paying a ton of money to the processor to do it. Also, a note on the seller (The Mercantile Station). I can't say enough good things about these folks. I had a question on a different purchase so I popped off an eMail through Amazon, less than 5 minutes later I was getting a phone call from 'em. Very polite and super helpful, I wish all stores, online and physical, had this level of customer service. If I had it all over to do again, I wouldn't have waited so long to buy one of these. Update (June 27, 2016) Thing is still running like a champ. Have ground easily 1,500 lbs of meat with this grinder over the years, and it hasn't even begun to slow down.

We recently ordered the STX Megaforce 3000 so that we could grind our own meat instead of buying the "pink slime" ammonia washed burger from the grocery store. The grinder arrive much faster than we expected and the quality far exceeds our expectations. As soon as it arrived we ground 40 pounds of sirloin and chuck. The Megaforce 3000 is much much much quieter that I expected. We cut the meat into long strips 1-2" wide and fed it in right out of the refridgerator. It ground the meat faster that I could feed the strips. It was so much faster and easier than us previously using a hand grinder. Buy this grinder and make your own ground meat for hamburgers, chili, meatloaf, tacos and more. You will not believe how much better your ground meat will taste and you'll pay much less for a higher quality product. I think we've already paid for the grinder with the money we saved making our own ground meat. I would highly recommend this grinder to my friends and would buy it again if I need to replace this one in the future. My husband loves it so much that he wants to paint flames on the side!
