How many horses can this meat grinder produce?

This grinder uses between 600 and 1200 watts while operating at no load (under load). This product's maximum output power is 3000 Watts, and the formula for converting Watts into HP is 1HP = 746 Watts. Although this grinder DOES NOT have a 4 HP motor inside, 3000 Watts divided by 746 equals over a 4 HP "Rating". This is a "RATING ONLY" and should not be mistaken with the motors found in commercial/industrial meat grinders, which typically feature motors with horsepower ratings of 1 to 1.5. This grinder's motor actually has slightly under 3/4 HP.

Can this device be used to ground raw chicken bones?

This grinder can handle SOFT bones, including those from chicken, rabbit, squirrel, and quail. This grinder CAN NOT handle hard bones like those of cattle, pork, or poultry. Because they won't grind on their own, bones must be mixed in with the flesh.

This machine is it noisy?

No. There is noise, but it's not loud enough to be bothersome. There is enough noise.

Does this grinder have a cuber/tenderizer attachment?

However, this model does come with a lot of extras! including 3 sausage stuffing tubes, 6 grinding plates, an open-top meat pusher, 3 cutting blades, and a kubbe attachment!

Work great, first use took two front and two back deer legs(about 40lbs) had zero problem assembles and disassembles very easily. Second use ground all of the ground for an ENTIRE cow. This machine probably will do 220lb per hour like it claims but you would need an assembly line of people to cube/feed/grind/package/freeze. I was doing about 25lbs at a time then vac sealing straight to freeze to keep the meat at room temp for as little time as possible. ONLY complaint I have which isn’t really a complaint (it’s stated in the instructions) if you dishwash these they will turn dark grey and have a film. I hand washed the first 10 times then said ehhh why not, put them in the washer and then ended up scrubbing them twice as long to get the black film off. Also used the sausage tubes and the burger press, all worked great. Great product.

Does a good job with simple meats and chicken or turkey bones. Had to return original purchase due to motor locking up after the first couple of uses. It just locked up again while grinding cheek meat. It just doesn’t handle tougher meats at all. That is my reason for the two-star rating. Customer service did a great job of shipping out first replacement motor. Am about to see if they’ll replace it a second time.

I have used this grinder twice, making venison sticks. I bought the foot pedal switch with this one. I highly recommend it. It was so easy to turn the grinder on and off without having to touch the switches with my hands full of venison. I found assembly and dis-assembly very easy. Super easy to clean. I would recommend it!!!

Needed a good meat grinder to make raw food for our dogs and cats and this was a great buy! It was easy to assemble and easy to clean as well! Definitely recommend this for any raw feeder wanting to make fresh balanced meals for their pets.

My husband very pleased that this meat grinder worked without any problems. It never clogged up and the foot peddle is wonderful to keep your hands busy feeding the meat through. Highly recomend this meat grinder for any hunters, and would make a great gift for your husband if he likes to process the meat from his hunting trips.

My husband and I both got deer this season and needed a new meat grinder as our 25+ year old cheapy is woefully inadequate. We had borrowed an Ensue grinder from a friend and had originally thought we would get one for ourselves since we liked the job it did, but when we saw this one and read the reviews, we thought we would take the chance. When it arrived, my husband was dubious. The housing is plastic, the unit feels lightweight, and he didn't think it would work as well as the heavy duty stainless steel Ensue grinder. As we unboxed and assembled it, he complained that it felt like a tinker toy and grumbled that we should have bought the other one. After two days using this grinder, however, I'm really glad we got it! We used high speed, and it ground both deer very quickly, never bogging down once. Our old grinder had trained us to remove every trace of silver skin or it would clog up, but this one cut through everything like butter--even the arm muscles that can be pretty tough and stringy. I also like having the foot pedal, so you don't have to try to push the buttons with meaty hands. Assembly, disassembly, and clean up was a breeze! (Just remember that you have to hand wash, as aluminum turns dark in the dishwasher). We didn't use a lot of the extras, but it's nice that we have them if we decide we want to. My only negative comment would be that the grinder is extremely loud. When it's running, you really need ear protection. Other than that, it's great! I would definitely recommend.

I bought this grinder for the purpose of making homemade raw cat food. The company stated that this grinder grinds soft bones (chicken bones) so that was the main reason I got this particular grinder, since other companies weren't able to say if their product could grind bones or not. The only downside is that the grinding plates rust really badly. After the first usage, there was a lot of tarnishing and reddish/orange rust on it! If it wasn't for that, I would give it five stars.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Bought this machine to start making raw food for my pets and they love it! There is simple instructions to follow for making raw pet food that come with the machine. We have also ventured out into grinding hamburger meat for ourselves and find you get a much better texture than the stuff you buy in the store. I can’t speak to the other attachments like the sausage maker as that’s not what I bought this for, but for my needs 10/10. It also wasn’t as loud as I was expecting, some of the other reviews seem dramatic and I was worried about it, but the first time I used it I was delighted it wasn’t like a train running through my house. This is an excellent machine that proves you get what you pay for

I ground 60# of venison and pork this past weekend and the grinder worked fine, but was VERY loud compared to other grinders I've used from companies like LEM. I'd guess it to be around 15 to 20 dB louder. While the grinder is fine, the sausage stuffer is pure garbage. If you want a true grinder/sausage stuffer combo, but one from LEM. I ended up purchasing a LEM stuffer locally (which works extremely well).

Work horse ground 32 pounds of deer as fast as I could feed it. Grounding head fell off power unit one time. It doesn’t fast securely. But after one time never came off again. Several comments about cleaning in reviews. Will update if I have problems. Followed instructions

I like the power but the noise, this thing is loud and they said it should get quieter the more you use it but no it is not happening , maybe you will get use to the noise, I use this about once every two weeks " I like to make my own sausage" and after all this time its still noisy. The blades and cutter needs regular touch up other than that this is a good grinder

We got this to grind our own raw chicken for dog food. It grinds everything beautifully. We usually do it three times just to get it super fine for one of our smaller dogs but otherwise grinding it twice for our bigger dogs makes it perfect. The foot pedal is a great way to stay safe and be able to turn it off when our hands are slippery. Just make sure you get good poultry sheers to cut things up into manageable pieces. Hand washing takes no time at all. This grinder is Highly recommended!

I purchased the STX turbo a couple days ago and I've gotta say im impressed. I work as a butcher and for the price point this is one of the better tabletop grinders I've used. It sets-up easy, breaks down quickly and for smaller batches of ground meat and sausage preparation it hits the mark in just about every category. The first thing i made was kielbasa. The attachments that came with the grinder made it very easy. I def recommend pre chilling your protein before you grind. The smaller size of the hopper vs industrial sized grinders means it can get warm and could slow the grind. That being said the grinder didn't bog down once. The grind was consistent and clean up was minimal. I also made burgers from scratch and they came out just as good. Again pre chilling your protein is a must. Though i didn't chill the grind the second time through and still had no problems. The only minor complaint i could have is the feeding tray is a little on the small size so making sausage was a bit harder than with larger models. But given the smaller size of the grinder it was to be expected. All and all i would def recommend the STX turboforce to anyone looking for a small grinder to use at home. Compared to other grinders or attachments, specifically ones that attach to stand mixers(which I'd advise you to avoid given their tendency to wear out the mother) at its price point i can't speak more highly of it.

Machine burned out after 2lb of meat which were cubed. I guess I have gotten a defective machine. Only brightside is that it comes with plenty of attachments and blades. Would of been a nice machine if it worked.

This grinder is awesome so far. It grinds cold meat like a champ and has no problem chewing through soft chicken bones. Then it's easy to clean to boot! My only complaint is that you must dry it off right after washing otherwise it starts to tarnish. I haven't used the foot pedal yet to make comment on it.

I bought this grinder to make raw dog food for our standard poodle puppy. It certainly makes the process much quicker and easier than chopping everything by hand. The foot petal really makes the Grinding process much cleaner and easier than pressing buttons to start and stop the grinder. This grinder really does a nice job of grinding chicken wings to help meet a dogs need for bone and cartilage in their diet.

My original review gave this machine 1 star. I was doing my first grind to make Italian sausage, and about three minutes into the grind, as I was feeding in some back fat, the grinder bogged, tripped the breaker, but would not turn on again. This machine has a reset, which I pressed many times. Nothing worked. The next day I tried to get it going again. Nothing. I called service (they were readily available) and as I was telling the man the situation, I hit the reset again, and it started right up. Perhaps I wow not pushing it hard enough. I proceeded to grind abut 20 more lb of pork with no problem, fast. I did however remove a hard skin from the back fat, because the machine does not go through that very well. I did a 2nd grind (much slower!) and then stuffed 27 lb of Italian sausage into natural hog casings. Came out fantastic! The foot pedal is a must for me when stuffing the casings. I just ordered a large capacity sausage stuffer because it was very time consuming.

I spent days looking for a meat grinder that could grind chicken bones. This model has been a joy to work with and I have ground chicken breasts with the ribs along with legs with the bones. The only thing is that some meat gets caught in the screw cap which holds the parts together.

Hello, thanks for the message, immediately the machine arrived, I started to carry out tests, I grind meat and it does it very well and then I made some sausages and they were very good despite having never done it before. After using the machine I washed it and my surprise is that the pieces are shedding rust and a red and black color that I have not been able to remove, I would believe that the machine is not made of stainless steel for food and I have a great doubt. If it rusts after 2 days I imagine how it will be after a year.

So me and my dad got this for my mom for her birthday. She flipped out with this. It was like seeing her like a little kid happy to get a new box of legos or a new video game. We used it the week after her birthday and she spent all day grinding meat for dinner. Lets just say she is more than happy we got this. Plus didn't take me long to clean. We are having to buy more meat so she can grind up more.

As a novice meat processor person I found this easy to use and easy to clean. Bacon cheddar burgers was my first project. I used 60/40. Next time I'll go with 80/20. They taste good but I like more texture in my meat. My current goal is to make turkey italian sausage. Looking for a recipe. I'm going to have a good time with this.

OK, so my first one stopped working. Amazon replaced quickly. Second one made a loud squealing noise when used. I talked to manufacture, they bench tested a unit, and sent it to me fast. LOL... when I sent the squealer back, i tried it again for kicks and giggles and of course it was quiet. Hopefully it wasn't my bad that made it so noisy. Anyway, I have been using this grinder about once a week for a couple of months and it works well. Plenty of capacity for my use, and pretty easy to clean. I always hand wash and dry with a towel, still looks new. A little cooking spray on the steel parts keeps the plates rust free. Love the foot pedal for sausage, and the wagon wheel plate is great for first grind, or irregular coarse grind. Used a Kitchen Aid with attachments in the past, this is many levels above that set up. Good value to me.

This is hands down the Best grinder I have come across for grinding chicken bones for feeding RAW to dogs. I tried a few other models and this is by far #1! After a lot of research I am so happy I finally found this grinder which is so efficient. Easy to use, easy to clean, does not overheat as others do, grinds chicken bones like a breeze, quickly, and without fuss. I love it!! So very happy I have finally found this grinder which has made making RAW food for my dogs a pleasure! Highly recommend all the way!

I think this grinder has two major design flaws. First, the auger blades are too close together at the feeder opening. This makes it harder to load meat from the hopper as it requires almost constant pressure for the auger to pick up the meat. Second, the spacing from the end of the auger to the cutting blades is too great. This causes meat, and especially fat to build up in that space resulting in meat and fat that is strained through the cutting plate rather than being minced. It makes the grinder all but useless for quality grinding. After a single use, trying multiple cutting plates and cutters, it was clear that the design was flawed. I returned it for a refund.

I am so so so disappointed in this meat grinder. I specifically bought this to make raw cat food WITH bones. The description and manual says it can handle chicken bones fine.. No it definitely cannot. There are so many large and small bone fragments in the meat its scary. Now I have to take 40 mins each meal to dig out small tiny little bone fragments before serving. And even so im sure i miss some. This is so dangerous for my kittens health. Now I have to return grinder and figure out another method to make his food. If you want to buy this grinder for yourself then sure it works great but it is HORRIBLE for animal food with bones. Please do not waste your money.

This right here ,is an amazing piece of kitchen must have. I've finally decided on it after long debates and after using for more then 8 years a chip ($70) grinder. Everything about this grinder is so well taught(except maybe for the material of a few parts wich might rust if you don't dry right after wash) That pedal makes it so much easier to rectify anything that might go wrong in the process. Also costumer service:outstanding... I ordered it on Amazon and wasn't going to recieve it until 2 weeks later but when I contacted the seller they made it happen a week sooner on their on expense.

This grinder is a beast! With a larger feed tube and motor compared to the cheaper grinders, this allows much larger pieces of meat to be ground up saving quite a bit of time. For those looking for a grinder specifically for grinding up chicken meat w bones, look no further, this one will do it without missing a beat. I've even ground up turkey necks without any ussues. I will say that it is a little noisy so dont expect a quite unit. Other than maybe the noise I would be hard pressed to find a fault w this grinder.

Don't burn out your KitchenAid! If you make your own RAW dog food, get this beast to grind up that meat! The ONLY drawback I have with this monster is that it's LOUD! What? IT'S LOUD! WHAT??? IT'S VERY LOUD!!! Very easy to clean. Very easy to assemble and disassemble. I highly suggest you read the manual! Some very good tips on use and care! YES, RTFM!!!

It’s a wonderful and powerful machine. Super easy to clean and assemble, only thing that I would critique is that the cutting discs will rust if you don’t waste them and dry them right away.

We loved this thing at first. We had 2 full grown male Axis deer to grind and it worked perfectly for those. After those first initial uses grinding those deer up, it got slower and slower and slower and just stopped working within 6 months.

I got this for for reviews I saw. Works great to grind chicken bones for my dogs. They said it was quite but it isn’t. I have to wear ear plugs when i use it cuz it hurts my ears. So I don’t know if I got a bad one or not. But it is really loud. Easy to clean and disassemble. I just wish it was quieter so I didn’t,t have to wear ear plugs. :(

The coating worn off after ONE use. Product description says you can grind soft bones, but it does not grind bones more than once! The coating worn off after one use. I wasted three Quails, which are not cheap at all! Does not grind FAT either. I had to clean the machine every few minutes, all the skin was left behind. Unless you plan to grind ONLY LEAN FOOD, DO NOT BUY!

Easy to assemble, directions for care and use clear and to the point. Foot petal nice to have so you don't have to touch buttons with dirty fingers to start or pause, keeps hands free to handle meat. Unit remained cool throughout process. Used olive oil spray to prep before use. easy clean up. My only concern is the top meat plate is frayed on one side and will need to be smoothed so it doesn't cut during use and cleaning. Definitely satisfied with purchase. Would like to get extended warranty. Was not offered at time of purchase.

I bought this brand to replace my new Weston. I am in love with this STX. It is quieter! It has a larger opening where the meat goes in so I do not have to cut the meat up so small. The pedal is an added bonus, so you can stop grinding should someone need to talk to you, or if you need to grab something else. PERFECT! Wish I had found this sooner in my life

Bought an LEM Big Bite, but it wouldn't start without a manual assist of the auger. LEM wouldn't return phone calls so I sent it back and bought this Turboforce II instead. Just used it to grind a ton of Canada Goose breast, pork, bacon and pork fat to make 30 pounds of brats and snack sticks. Ate through everything as quick as I could feed it. Throat and pan is great in size. Sure it is a little loud, but what grinder isn't?

Nice compact little unit and lightweight. I have a bad back and I do move the unit as needed. I have only processed about 70 lbs of hog and deer sausage so far. However...unit has performed well for my type of useage. One should understand, this is not for anything but homeowner use. Time will tell if unit will hold up. So far so good. The unit has some running noise...but doesn't bother me in my little meat shop area. Foot pedal is a great item. My unit did have one plate missing for grinding and it was the one size I really needed. Haven't contacted manufacturer yet...but will.

I have only used 1 time but it works great. It is unexpectedly lite in weight, so not real confident how many times it will be dependable but we shall see. The alum alloy components are a bit of a pain to clean/dry then protective coat quickly ! I took about 15 minutes after use before starting to clean the various parts and some were already darkening from oxidization.

I was looking for an amature meat grinder to handle 1 or 2 deer per year, but I also didn’t want to buy junk and hope it will last forever. When I hear a review say something lasted 10 years I want to know how many sessions did it last? I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of YouTube before deciding. This was at my max budget but claimed to do what I wanted. Take this review for what it’s worth. I’ve only ground 1 deer but it handled it no problem. Afterward I stuffed a lot of sausage casings no problem. The foot pedal is a must and is included BUT, be careful. I accidentally stepped on it many times throughout the process while my hands were in the danger zone. Wether it will last... I’ll let you know in 10 years when I’ve ground a maximum of 19 deer (Minimum of 10). - It did what I wanted and came with all the accessories I needed. It was much more efficient than my hand crank 32mm grinder from Bass Pro. It didn’t bog down or have any other trouble. It looks nice although I’d rather they didn’t spend money on sleek looks. I don’t need that. In summary... it performed better than I could’ve hoped the one time I used it! It was cheaper than motorizing my hand crank grinder. I think it can be paired with a meat mixer (used as a motor). I’m happy with it but can’t comment on longevity.

I'm so glad I finally went for it and bought a meat grinder. I can grind a whole chicken or two rabbits in five minutes for my cats' food, instead of 30-45 minutes by hand. More importantly, it saves me a ton of energy which is huge as I have a chronic disability that greatly limits my activity. Of course, it's also fun to grind beef, etc for myself, to make it easier to use in recipes. The grinder looks nice on the shelf and is very easy to clean.

Got tired of poorly casted #32 grinders and wasn't dropping $300 for a good one, so I bought this. Well my brothers litterly laughed at me when I showed them this, kept asking if I peeled off the Mattel tag. The entire unit weighs less than just the grinder unit of my old rig. I was really hoping to give it a good review and not having a piece of junk on the shelf. The Misses picked up some pork shoulders on sale and worked them up and put them in the freezer to chill. Well we just cleaned up after grinding them and I have to say " I'm impressed". Loud YES, who cares, simple yes, well optioned yes. We'll let you know if we put a deer or beef through it . For now I'm happy!

So far in today I have processed 60 lbs of burger starting from steak form to being double grounded into 90/10 hamburger in to my freezer. So total lbs today was 120 lbs going through this unit as i used the the sausage tube to fill the 2 pound bags on the second grinding process. This model comes with the foot peddle which makes a much faster production, safer and the convenience is a sell in itself. **Not a flaw or over heating what so ever* **Read the instructions ** Some reviews on here. I just shake my head. This is not a water friendly product and it states that or it will rust or tarnish. **Do not soak..Not dishwasher friendly ** Wash and dry immediately . I washed mine total of 3 times with Hot soapy water and dried it immediately. No bleach. Still.. Looks brand new. Unfortunately you have to pay big bucks to get into a commercial grade system to have 100% high quality stainless. Like "Hobart" grinders and accessories. Worth the money.

This machines save me money because I dont have to buy ground meat anymore. I cook ground pork and make beef ball all the time. I would go to the supermarket and buy ground meat but they dont stay fresh for more then 2 days. This machine works great. I buy bulk meat and ground and freeze them. I even make sausage but i need more practice because it keeps breaking during stuffing. Overall if you use ground meat a lot, then its a very good investment. I got the foot petal too.

The packaging was very basic (white box), but who cares about that? I opened the box and after chilling the auger and the feeder in the freezer for a few minutes, I installed all the parts and got to grinding. This machine gobbled my mule deer as fast as I could load it. It seems to have plenty of power. It looked great on the counter and seems like it will last a while. The foot pedal was a nice addition and allowed me to turn the machine off when the hopper was empty so that the motor didn't get over-worked. I haven't used the sausage attachments, but I did use the burger patty former. It made perfect sized blue cheese burgers and was easy to clean. No complaints here.

After checking the reviews of many meat grinders, I decided to give the STX Turboforce II"Platinum" a try. This was my first try at meat grinding for many years. The grinder worked flawlessly. We processed 3 deer in as many days and never had any problem. The grinder barely slowed down no matter how fast we put the meat in. I selected the next to largest grinding plate which for me was about perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend this to a friend.

Works very well. A little slower than I expected and I feel the power is slightly over rated but very nice grinder. I use this on a few deer a year and it does a great job. Not sure how it will hold up for doing elk but should be trying that out later this year

First off, I have used the grinder only once so far. With that said I think it is great. I purchased the grinder to make raw cat food which requires bone in chicken thighs. I was hesitant at first as I know you get what you pay for. I was pleasantly surprised that the grinder had no problems grinding up my first 5 pounds. Of course I have many more to go before I would consider I made a good purchase for the price but so far so good. My only dislike is that the top tray moves around easily during the process. I will update this review if the grinder does not hold up to my standards.

Bought last year before deer season. Have now processed 5 deer total with it, and it's absolutely amazing. Wish the plates were galvanized, they do discolor. This thing is super fast, big motor, and stays cool even with 30+ minutes straight use. Ground 60lb venison the other night in about 20 min. The foot pedal is amazing. Way better than having to turn off and on by hand, can use 2 hands to feed it (need both, is so fast) I have not tried bones of any kind, I would guess it would have to be very small bones, to fit through the screw mechanism. Only 1 problem though, as others have said, it is very loud. Like, cannot hear anyone talking within 30 feet, loud.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  As a hunter who values all of the meat we harvest let me tell you this thing is a God send. I was apprehensive due to buying affordable grinders in the past and getting burned, but this thing is amazing! I keep my meat really cold and it grinds as fast as I can feed it. Is not as loud as I expected from some reviews but it is an ELECTRIC MEAT GRINDER so I didn't expect it to be silent. Just as good as some other 500$+ grinders I have dealt with. Just a regular guys review, but it is worth the buck for the guys who spend hours researching grinders before purchasing. Standard auger, blade, and plate sizes means they are interchangeable with my old hand grinder so easy part replacement is a bonus. (FYI the foot pedal is worth every penny as I can feed and stuff while grinding hands free!) Also when cleaning, just remember to wash, then completely hand dry, and then to put some Canola or some other food safe oil on all of the metal parts to prevent rusting. Used it several times and no rust at all as it looks brand new. Give it a shot guys you won't go wrong.

I hope the unit I received was a defective unit because it was so noisy I thought it had bad gears or motor. If you intended to use it the way I got it you would absolutely have to wear hearing protection.

No complaints! I put it through its paces and ground around 30lbs of pork and wild game for its maiden run. It only bogged down one time and it was my fault. Easy to clean and no complaints to report!

This item was better than we expected. The sausage came out perfect (and it was our first time to make sausage). The foot pedal is a must. We knew before buying it that the pieces shouldn’t be put in the dishwasher and that the metal pieces would rust. While cleaning wasn’t super easy, I’m sure because of the pork fat that was crammed into every crevice, it all came clean with super hot water and a scrub brush. We dried the plates and oiled them before putting them away to keep them from rusting. We’re looking forward to making more sausage with this machine!

Theres nothing I dont like about the meat grinder/stuffer. I'm upper body disabled so the foot pedal is a great attachment. As long as you follow the directions on feeding the meat and the stuffer the machine runs great. Follow the cleaning instructions to a T and all the parts will clean up with ease. I have well over 300 hrs of use on my grinder and I expect it to run many more years. Great meat grinder for the price. I highly recommend it as a home use.

I purchased this meat grinder to process food for my dogs and cat. First use, it worked like a charm! Assembly was very simple. Screw a few pieces together, and it is ready to go. This grinder went through chicken quarters like nothing! First grind, I mashed the meat, bone in. Second grind, I mixed the ground quarters with some organ meats. So far, I am very happy with my purchase.

This is the first grinder I have purchased, so I don't have anything to compare it to but I feel this works very well. In other reviews, there were a lot of complaints about the noise level. I was anxious due to the complaints but don't feel that it is all that loud and don't think one should expect a machine that is grinding meat and bones to be really quiet. There is a lot of emphasis on the importance of cleaning the machine in the manual to the point that I am hyper-conscious about making sure to clean it even during the course of grinding batches of meat. It is very important to oil the grinding plates every time you use them because of how easily they tarnish. The meat tray on top of the grinder does feel low quality but it is functional and is securely fastened to the grinder. I am satisfied with this purchase.

I’ve been making raw food for my dog and needed a grinder that would go through chicken thighs and parts. This is exactly what I needed and more. I would suggest you read the entire information booklet which has very helpful information. I’ve attached two images which I felt needed to be shared to show those that have discoloration issues probably aren’t cleaning properly. Many people have complained about the parts/blades oxidizing or changing colors. Read the information booklet!!! It’s VERY clear about how to clean and care for this grinder. Follow the instructions and you won’t have issues. Just to ensure I’ve not left moisture on the parts, I used my blow dryer to make sure there was no lingering water in the crevices of the blades and wheels. I also then oiled them and stored them with a paper towel and silica packets in an airtight container. I’ve not had any issues. As far as grinding abilities, I followed instructions and made sure my meat and bones were of a certain temperature and sent them through the grinder. Most bones fed right on through with no problem grinding the large knuckles. Once or twice I had to help a piece along and just to be sure I wasn’t forcing the machine, I hit the reverse button for a second or two and then continued on. The grinder grinds like a charm. I followed instructions and used the “wagon wheel” plate to grind the bones. I found it ground the meat and bones in small enough pieces that I didn’t feel it was necessary to grind again using a smaller plate. It was very quick and easy. My only complaint which isn’t really an issue for me is that the machine is loud but shouldn’t you expect that out of metal on metal grinding bones? Again, read the information booklet and follow the instructions! I would recommend. I’m happy with my purchase.

I have used big professional grinders, and this machine performed quite well for its size. I would not hesitate to recommend it. The meat tray should really be attached more firmly to the auger head so it doesn't move, but other than that, there are no issues.

Based on the description and illustration of the machine led me to believe it was if good quality. Upon receiving the product and inspecting it I was quite disappointed. The housing of the machine was plastic. Extremely light weight, (meaning cheaply built). Keep in mind I Have Not used this machine. I’m still debating on whether to return it or give it a try! I bought this machine basically for making sausage. The stuffing horn and all of its components are also plastic and very short in length, not really the most ideal tool for making sausage. In writing this review my intent is not to veer potential buyers away, but simply to inform!

I’ve had several meat grinders over the years. I don’t do a lot of meat processing these days, so I wanted a smaller unit that could do the amount I had in mind. I’m fairly disappointed in this unit. Here’s why: 1) The tray, auger, auger retaining ring and such are not dishwasher safe. They do clean fairly easily, but I prefer the sterilization that a dishwasher provides. 2) The unit is obnoxiously loud. 3) The casing tube, funnel and meat stuffer are all made of thin wall extruded plastic and I fear they will not hold up to much use. 4) The extruder plates are not stainless. After the first use, I have rusted plates. You can get a much better meat processor for the same money elsewhere. Buyer beware!

This product as a lot of great accessories with it. The foot pedal is a great way to get an extra hand that doesn't have to touch raw meat. Low, high, stop, and reverse buttons are great. Unused plates, blades, and sausage stuffers store easily in the meat pusher. Most meat grinder have negative reviews claiming that gear grease has contaminated their meat. Take these with a grain of salt. This is probably charred meat. As long as you chill your meat to 34 degrees and don't overstuff your grinder, this shouldn't be a problem. The burger presses are great. I"m looking forward to making stuffed burgers with fresh ground meat.

Purchased because it is powerful and reportedly quiet, this thing is loud as hell, I had earplugs in after awhile, I think my phone said like 90db's. High pitched too. Sounds like it will burn up in 30 minutes but I bet it won't, I bet it will scream as if it's going to die for months on end. Ironically comical for an animal grinder, but I don't need that. Nope.

TL:DR Great grinder for the money. I've had no issues grinding whole chickens that have been cut small enough for the chute. Lots of accessories, spare blades and more. Just read the manual and don't put it in the dishwasher. I bought this grinder due to getting ripped off by a local butcher. I felt I was getting less and less meat and weighed my box and got 33# when I paid for 40# and it seemed like I was getting more skin/bone than I should. Enter my search for a grinder. My parents have a commercial grade grinder that could take off my entire arm, and while I appreciate it's quality, I don't have that kind of cash. I decided to bite the bullet and give this one a shot. When I opened the box I wasn't impressed with the plastic body but it does keep it light weight. Mostly aluminum parts that are nicely finished, that's why you can't run it through the dishwasher. I grind 40# of chicken backs every month or so for dog food. I've also ran a few whole chickens that were in the freezer a bit longer than I'd like. This little guy has run flawlessly. Read the manual, grind your meat a bit frosty and don't put it in the dishwasher! I've had the grinder since Jan 2018 (July 2019 now) and I just finished another box of backs. No problems as usual. The foot pedal is probably my favorite part of it. No sticky meat buttons. The chute is a touch small width wise, but long enough to keep my dumb fingers safe when the included plunger doesn't want to smash a stubborn rib cage down the chute. (Don't try this at home) Cleaning is a breeze. I hand wash it all, dry with a fresh towel, being sure to get all drops of water off, and let it sit out for about an hour before it goes back in the box and into the garage. Still looks brand new. I feel like I've already got my money's worth out of it and am glad it still runs strong.

usly Well, just received this grinder. Opened box and instantly saw items of concern. The grinder plates are short 1 plate. Should have been 6, were only 5. 3 of the 5 were not even in protective wrapping. There were suppose to be 3 cutting blades, only received 2. Manufacturer obviously does not place much emphasis on quality inspection during the packaging process. Very disappointed right now. Was looking forward to a weekend of food preparations. I will wait to hear back from seller/STX and decide if I want to return and go with another brand. Will update this review.

Worked great, very fast, a little noisy but that's to be expected. I ordered because our old one finally gave up and I was so pleased with it's performance. I had made 15 lbs. of roast that I ground up and it was so much faster, clean up is easy. Reminder to all never put it in the dishwasher, my son had borrowed our old one and it really is not good for the parts.

I have ground 5 deer with this grinder and it works great! I would not use the dishwasher on any of the metal parts as the shinny finish will oxidize but it will still work fine if you do. Wish the head was fully stainless steel and that wouldn't happen but regardless still head and shoulders better than most grinders. I can grind faster that you can cut the meat up.

I use this grinder once a week to make my pets food. I grind roughly 100 pounds a week. It will grind smaller bones. I grind chicken bones with no slowing of the motor. It will slow down when pushing the meat too quick. All in all, I will say this is a great grinder for the hunter and homeowner. This grinder will meet all my needs and then some. If your looking for a grinder to be used like I do, then I would highly recommend this one. I feel this is a 4 1/2 star grinder . Super easy to clean, but it has labels on everything that disassembles to NOT put it in the dishwasher, I took 1/2 star for that.

I unboxed it and was initially impressed. The cast parts are typical cast, very sturdy. The motor assembly looked good as well. All parts were in the box and it was packaged very well. However... I read the instructions... simple stuff. I plugged in the unit and pushed the high speed button, then pushed the stop button then the low speed button and nothing... the stop button has “Stop/Reset” on it. I pushed that one and tried again still nothing. Checked power source and it was good. Tried a different power source for giggles and still nothing. This thing quit before I even dropped a piece of meat in it. All while I have 200# of meat to grind. Now I’m headed to buy a real grinder. I should have researched this thing a little more. Good news is I was able to neatly put it back in the box and will be sending it back.

We do not eat beef; ground pork is hard to find! so we can now grind our own pork from a whole pork loin we save as ground pork is $3.00lb when I can find-- a loin is only $1.89 and in 10 minutes we grind about 10 lbs. We love how easy it is! I highly recommend this product.

Didnt expect it to be so loud but it is. Plates started to rust within using product for second time, the head cracked also. Don’t really recommend this product to anyone your just kinda throwing your money away. Better off putting a few more bucks into something that’s built with better quality parts. Love this grinder. It cleans fairly easy. I have put 3 whole deer and parts of beef and pork through it with no problems. I also got a small piece of bone into it. It stopped but didn't break anything. I also worried about metal getting into the meat but nothing contaminated the meat as I watched carefully with all my processing. Definitely saved some time and money getting this.

I’ve been grinding and have owned this grinder for about a year now. I bought this to grind up chicken bones for my dogs. The grinder works great and I just ordered a new head because the shaft looks like it’s stripped a little. I’m having delivery issues because we moved to a new subdivision, but the whole head assembly was very affordable. I can’t wait to be grinding again.

This product really grinds the meat the only drawback is the tray likes to pop out when you're stuffing meat into the grinder that is the only reason why I did not give it 5 stars they need to try to find some type of support bracket to hold it in place. With that tray moving makes it a little cumbersome 2 continue the process. Going to look at it and make a modification without impacting the internal diameter

Seemed lightweight and cheaply made. Looks were very deceiving. Received it today. Used it today to process a medium size deer. I have been using a small #5 grinder for about 10 years...and dreaded using it. This grinder worked great, and I could barely keep up even on low speed. Foot switch included with this unit makes it a very good buy. Seemed 4 to 5 times faster than my old smaller grinder, with very little pushing. I gave it 4 stars because I do not know how durable this grinder will be. I usually process 2 to 3 deer per year. I will update this review at a later date.

Don't get me wrong this is a nice little grinder that does a fine job but it is very very very cheaply made. The machine weights almost nothing especially compared to my last grinder that was only 350 watts . The auger , tubes , plate and knifes are half the tickness of stardard equipment I've worked with. If it olds up and last it will be worth the money I just wasn't expecting such a cheap poor made feeling machine after all the great reviews.

I purchased this grinder I order to grind food for my dog. It is great. Having the foot pedal makes it so incredibly easy. I had purchased a smaller version from a different company not realizing the power needed to grind chicken bones. BUT just as the instructions say, DO NOT grind larger bones. I have not tried, but I can imagine it would not work. Super easy to clean. Make sure you do not air dry but towel dry all the parts. Highly recommend!!!

A friend of mine bought this grinder and was pleased with it, so I decided to purchase one. I ordered a new grinder and when I received it I was disappointed as this grinder was opened up by someone else. I can't say if it was used or not but I ordered it new and that's what I expected. The blade and disk packages were open and one blade and disk were assembled in the housing. I wasn't going to chance it so I sent it back. If it was new this review may have been a lot different.

Ok so I know $200 isn't the most expensive meat grinder, but I wouldn't expect it to completely rust and tarnish out after ONE use. You'll see in the pics of the grinding plate the rust in all the holes - this is after I scrubbed what rust I could off the surface, which still has some odd black streaks. The remaining chrome-ish parts all oxidized to the point where I’d never use this grinder again for any sort of food. Disappointed is an understatement. This is the first review I’ve ever written, needless to say I’m fairly pissed. See attached pics.

The STX 4000 was what it was advertised to be. This is my first grinder and after reading and research settled on this model as the best value. The machine worked as advertised and if you stuff sausage I highly recommend the foot peddle. It would be impossible to load and stuff plus control the casing tension without the foot control. My only complaint (small) is that the machine is a bit noisy. There is no mistaking you are using this machine but it is like I say, just a small issue. I ground up my meat as fast as I could reasonably feed the machine. I followed some of the research advice by cutting the meat into squares and strips plus it close to freezing. It all worked well.

The stx 4000 was just what I was hoping for, have only ground approx 30# of brisket and pork shoulder and stuffed in summer sausage casings without any problems. I've had a couple of cheaper home grinders and this one would eat them up. Read lot of reviews about being noisy, so what it's a grinder. The only thing I found difficult was push rod wanting to stick in throat when pushing sticky meat ,I guess that should be expected. Seems to be a great product glad I made this choice.

I have used this grinder 3 times in the past 2 weeks since I received it and I could ask for anything better. One of the most important things I liked about this grinder is that it comes with a Foot Pedal which makes grinding and sausage stuffing so easy you will not believe it. I also wanted to mention that I was also very pleased that this unit came with 5 sizes of Grinding Plates and a Beaner Plate which is used specially for making sausage. I shopped a lot trying to find a grinder with a Foot Pedal and more than 3 sizes of Grinding Plates and this is then only one I could find in the USA. This is a Very Good and Powerful Meat Grinder with all of the attachments and accessories you will every need.

I have been looking for an electric meat grinder with a good assortment of grinding plate sizes as my husband and I like to make all different kinds of sausage which requires different diameters of holes in the grinding plates depending on what type of sausage you want to make and stuff. I looked all over the web and finally found this one on Amazon that came with 5 different sizes of plates and they even included a sausage stuffing plate which was pretty impressive. What was more impressive was when we received the grinder, set it up and ground some meat. We had already purchased and cubed a little over 30 lbs of beef to grind into hamburger (we freeze it) just to test the unit out for the first time. We turned it on, started to feed the meat into the grinder and we were done grinding in less than 10 minutes - WOW! Not much more to say than Buy It as you will be quite impressed.

First of all, I wanted to tell all reading my review that "George", who I see gave this grinder a 1 Star Review because "the grinding components tarnished the first time I washed it" does NOT know how to read instructions. It states more than one time in the instructions in Bold Letters "DO NOT WASH ANY PARTS OF THIS GRINDER IN THE DISHWASHER" as they will discolor or tarnish! As the old saying goes, "When all else fails, read the instructions". OK...now for my review. This is definitely a Beauty and a Beast of a grinder. The design of this grinder is definitely beautiful and OMG does this thing grind meat. I had this unit unpacked, set up and and was ready to grind (after washing it in hot water and dawn as instructed) in about 10 minutes. I was not sure how fast it would grind, but I had purchased just over 20 lbs of beef chuck roasts from my local food store and had already stripped it for grinding by cutting the meat in strips that were about 3/4" x 3/4" and each strip was about 6'" to 10" long. A friend of mine had told me to cut the meat in strips instead of cubing them as it would make it easier to feed into the grinder. I turned the unit on and started dropping the strips down the feed tray chute and believe it or not, I was done grinding all of this meat in just over 5 Minutes. I disassembled the 4 parts of the grinding head and washed them correctly in hot water and Dawn liquid, dried them immediately and was done with the complete grinding of the meat and cleanup in less than 20 minutes. I must tell you that my friend was correct about cutting the meat into strips because all I did was drop the strips of meat in the top hole of the meat tray and Not Once did I even use the meat pusher that came with the product. I will admit that I was absolutely amazed!!! Please take a good look at the photo and description of this grinder and you will see that the company that put this complete package together knew what they were doing. 3 stainless steel cutting blades, 5 grinding plates with different sized holes, 1 sausage stuffing plate, sausage stuffing tubes and a kubbe attachment plus one Very Powerful Grinder. What more can I say, but Buy This Grinder as you will Not Be Sorry!

Fantastic grinder for the money. Though I only used it a couple times since I received it a few weeks ago I am very impressed with it. Had 15 pounds of meat ready to grind for sausage when it showed up. Immediately put kitchen aid away and set up the stx 4000. I ground up the meat and changed blades and stuffed my casing in the same amount of time it would have taken using the kitchen aid just to grind. It worked so well I decided to make some food for my dogs. Again it performed like a champ grinding chicken with bones and rabbit with bones as per instructions. This unit worked almost as well as the commercial unit I used to have in my butcher shop. Only on a much smaller scale. Highly recommend the stx 4000 for anyone who is serious about having a quality grinder that will produce and still be able to keep it on the kitchen counter.. Cant wait to make some more sausage with this grinder. My only regret is that i didnt buy this sooner. I will give an update on the grinder in a few months after ive used it several more times. Update- grinder is still all it was advertised to be. Have not had any issues with it at all. Still giving it 5 stars

We have owned this for 1 month just got around to using it to grind up 15 lb of pork for sausage, was able to use the low setting for this, was able to get the meat ground up in very little time with no issues. I didn't find the machine to be loud. Glad that we chose this machine as it is lighter and not so heavy that we would need to leave it on the counter taking up space. We did get the foot peddle but wasn't able to use it, the cord wasn't long enough to reach our outlet.

Bought this meat grinder to process a white-tailed deer. It is very easy to use. We deboned most of the deer (kept the backstraps whole) and fed it through the grinder. It never once bogged down. We packed the freezer with about 25lbs of ground venison in about 45 minutes. Clean-up was easy too.

Had no issues. Works as expected ☺ I use it for raw pet food. I grind chicken drum sticks(you need to trim off some meat and put it in the right end so it will catch and pull through, works as long as done correctly) and wings with a breez. The rest grinds too easy. Use the right disk for The bones.

I received the unit and it packaged in three boxes. My first time using the unit ,I had 5lbs of beef and pork to grind for snack sticks. I got through maybe 4 pounds and I smelled a burnt smell. Shortly after the motor completely burnt up. POS. I then took the pieces and washed them and all the cheap coating came right of the fake stainless steel. I would never recommend this unit , its cheap , china made product. Not happy. Previously I used my kitchen aid mixer with the attachment and it worked way better than this unit. Don't buy it!!

I have used this twice now, first time for sweet Italian sausage 5 lbs, second time for 10 lbs pepperoni snack sticks. this work flawlessly both times. it is a little loud as others have said but it does seem to be getting quieter the more i use it, love all the plates and blades that came with it, the foot pedal is what sold me on the whole thing that makes it so easy to keep both hands working during grinding or stuffing. making the snack sticks were a bit of challenge due to the size of the casings and you really had to push the meat thru to get it to stuff. making Italian sausage was a breeze. i have already recommended this grinder to another guy who's grinder had died.

>.. I have been reviewing Raw Diets for my dogs. The butcher usually supplied me with ground trimmings as pet food, but announced that they would not be grinding again until Summer. So I was forced to evaluate my desire to feed them the 'right way" for me, or go back to the food they really wouldn't eat, which is what got me looking at real dog food, in the first place. Since my butcher wasn't going to be grinding, I would have to or pay out serious money for prepared frozen B.A.R.F. food elsewhere. >.. This machine seemed to have the power and all the pieces needed, six plates, 3 blades, foot pedal, and some serious power. I read all the reviews, I watched YouTube, and I bought it. Hard to find recipes as Dr. Becker's book is out of print, and is offered here for $188.99 from a reseller [used]. So more research. Decided on a recipe. >.. 20 pounds of meat, organs, vegetables, supplements, and eggs with shells later, I was delighted with my machine. It plainly states with BIG pictures how to place the blades against the cutting plate, and I did. And it worked the first time. I changed plates to regrind, and found that I needed to clean deeper into the exit chute than I expected, but once I did, it all worked perfectly again for the second finer grind. [I used the two largest plates with holes, not the wagon wheel or the beaner plates, they have other uses.] I have not ground bones yet, that will happen with chicken or rabbit (we have a pet supplier here in my town), but not with turkey or bigger bones. The directions are very clear: chicken, duck, or rabbit bones are OK, Turkey, lamb, goat, or bigger are too big for the machine, and voids the warranty. >.. Now to the cleaning: Hot soapy water cleaned everything easily and spotlessly EXCEPT the cutting plates. They stained, possibly from acids from the meat. The stains resisted brushing, and scrubbing, so I accepted that they were discolored like a knife that has been etched to reveal grain, but it was not that pretty. They are fully functional, and when I called my Brother-in-law who uses his machine every year to make venison sausage, he said his plates were stained too and not to worry as long as they were CLEAN, which they are. I used coconut oil to coat the metal parts, including the carefully washed threads. and packed it away. >.. One thing I wanted to know, and no review here said was: how long did it take to make roughly 3 weeks of food for the dogs? Well, the meat was cut up and frozen before, it took about 2 hours to thaw. So I started at 2:30 in the afternoon, and with mixing in supplements grinding the vegetables, adding in the eggs, shells, jellied bone broth with turmeric and ginger, adding the other supplements and mixing it all up to even out the distribution of all that extra, then regrinding, and packaging in one pound bags, it took me 2 and 1/2 hours. Could it have gone faster? Oh, yes. I was looking for things, I had to grind in stages as I didn't have a big enough container for all the meat at once. Now, I have a much better idea of the process, I expect to be be faster in the future. >.. Next time Chicken! Easter is coming, maybe lamb. And turkey is cheap in the off season. I wonder how many turkeys come in a case? And I know where to buy a goat! The dogs will eat well! >.. 3/20/17 Update: I found a way to reduce the time before I got into it again. I ordered a 2 inch sausage tube, and some meat bags. These come in 1 pound, and 2 pound sizes, and I am told can be forced to hold more, so 1/2 kilo in a 1 pound bag or 1 kilo in a 2 pound bag seems reasonable. How does this save time? The horn can be mounted after the size plate is placed over the cutting blade, and all secured by the locking ring. So the second grind goes out of the machine into the premeasured bags directly instead of into the pan to be weighed and bagged later. Depending on the bags you get you can close them with a tape dispenser or smaller hog rings [need pliers or dispensing pliers for these]. The heavier bags, like I bought, need the hog rings to close like most 1 pound ground meat chubs in the store have. I think I could cut easily 30 minutes off my time with these bags, horn, and closure device. I found all of these on Amazon by searching for the meat bags. >.. Update 4/11/17: there is no #12 match for this machine. The grinding plates and locking head are called #12, and they are close, but not the same, a bit smaller. I found this out when I ordered the #12 2 inch horn from a different supplier, it did not fit, and STX does not make such a horn. THE ANSWER: I just used the largest stuffing tube to fill the meat bags, instead and it worked fine. I did not try to send the dog food through the grinder a third time, I just put the tube on the machine for the second grind, and let the force of the grinding fill the tube and the meat bag at it's own pace. Keep everything COLD and all went well. It certainly did speed up the processing and eased the storage as well. Dropped 25 1.25 pound bags into the freezer, in orderly rows cross stacked for the upper rows, and it stores as nice as one could ask.

What a waste of money. The grinding components tarnished the first time I washed them. This $225 unit which I purchase is now not usable. Total and complete waste of money. JUNK. DO NOT BUY.

It does NOT get any better!! The foot pedal control makes all the difference in success when grinding meat or stuffing casings. This picture is of my FIRST pork sausage! My first ANYTHING sausage! I am a avid researcher and everything I read about this particular brand and item was stellar and I can see why! I ground well over 5 pounds of pork roast and immediately began stuffing it into casings. The grinder was fast enough not to heat up the meat, I was very careful about reading instructions and so I was prepared to watch for this, and to make sure I cleaned it as recommended, (I also used food grade silicone on everything) It cleaned up fast and through, and even now, shows NO signs of rust or discoloration. I feel like I got an excellent deal from this seller and the machine is a gem! I PAID for my STX Turboforce ll - and received nothing for this review.

We started off with the antique hand grinder. That got a little old after chewing up the edges of the table and cutting boards with the screw clamp. The parts got rusty real easy too. Then we moved up to a power attachment to our mixer. That was an improvement but had limited capacity and features. We finally decided to get serious and get the STX Turboforce II. Wow. We are very pleased. This just aint the same old grind! It has plenty of power and capacity to run through a mound of meat in short order. It ground up the sausage and pushed through the stuffer as fast as we wanted to keep up with it. We even had a spare hand because this has a foot control power switch. This grinder is a real powerhouse. We have graduated to the real deal machinery instead of having to monkey around. It was a welcome upgrade for us after having used others in the past of lesser capacity.

I bought this for my husband. He researched them and chose this one. He has been busy making sausage and is very pleased. A few things could be imoroved: the plunger is a poor design, a smaller tube for making snack sticks would be nice, and the plunger and tubes should be stainless not plastic. I would buy again but hope it will hold up for many years and I won't have to replace it.

I've used this product twice since purchase and it works great. I use it to make food for my pets. I grind chicken thighs and breasts with bone in and I've even ground bone-in legs as long as they're small. This machine can handle it. It's a bit loud, but well worth the noise for it's ease of use and ability to grind bone-in chicken.

I'm giving this product a full 5 stars based on my first use. I coarse-ground 5 pounds of beef, and medium-ground 9 pounds of chicken breasts and thighs in record time. Perfect consistency! Worked exactly as advertised, and as expected. For the price, and for all of the accessories that it comes with, I highly recommend this grinder to anyone that wants to process their own meat. I will be stuffing sausages next, as soon as I find some casings, but I expect it to be as easy as the setup, grinding, and cleaning was this first time using it. The foot pedal was very useful too. I didn't notice the noise, but if it's going to quiet down more after more use, that's just an added bonus. Get yours now! Update: I've now run beef, pork, and chicken through this grinder, and have stuffed countless sausages with great results. This tool has already paid for itself several times over, and I know exactly what is going into my ground meats and sausages. Get one! You won't be disappointed.
