I love this Black & Decker 6-Quart Multi Function Slow Cooker! It really does do it all. I have used it to cook whole chickens - they come out moist and tasty, the skin is not so great, but that is good for me as I am watching my weight - I just take it off! I've made fabulous roasts of all kinds - the searing feature is great, and then I can cook it on the roasting rack, remove the roast and rack, and then make my gravy right in the same pan, with out losing any of the drippings. I've used it to keep meats and poultry at a safe temperature for buffets, and it even cooks up corn on the cob! I haven't even used it as a slow-cooker yet. The inner pan comes right out for thorough cleaning, and the heating part of it is an easy clean-up, I haven't even put this away since I got it, as I use almost daily. I would recommend this to everyone.

Nice looking, big, and great functions, but expensive and not ceramic. This crock pot feels like an interesting hybrid of an electric skillet and a crock pot. I like the styling and the nice big handles, but you need plenty of room to store it. The knobs even stick out about 3 inches. The best feature is its sear setting, so you don't have to get another pan dirty. It handles searing a roast decently, though not quite as well as in a nice pan on the range. I also liked the exact temperature controls, although I haven't used them yet. You select the bake/roast option then you can select a temperature from 200 degrees to 450. It also has the usual warm, low and high crock pot settings. The worst feature is that the pot is like an electric skillet so it's nonstick instead of heavy ceramic. The second time we used it was for a large party, and the metal ladle used quickly scratched the nonstick coating. Overall a nice crock pot but you definitely pay for the extra temperature features. At the price point I got it at, I think I'd spend a little more for a combination crock and pressure cooker instead and just sear in a separate pan.

A stove top, oven and slow cooker rolled into one! You can use it to SEAR/SAUTE, ROAST, BAKE, and also SLOW COOK. Although there is no timer, the advantages of having an All-in-One takes cooking to a different level. Experiment - Pork Loin Roast. Prep: Turned knob to ROAST and temperature to 350°. Preheated for 10 minutes. No-Fuss Recipe: Pork Loin Roast (3 - 4lbs), seasoned with garlic salt, white and black pepper. Potatoes and onions, peeled and quartered, and tossed in a little Olive Oil. How-To: Placed veggies into the non-stick pan, then pork, fat side up. Topped roast with 3 - 4 pats of butter. This will "baste" the meat and after, make gravy. Roasted covered for 1 hour, until the internal temperature reached 145°. Turned off the cooker and took out. Gravy: Turned knob to SAUTE and sprinkled 3 tablespoons of flour over 3 tablespoons of drippings left in the pan. Stirred until smooth and cooked until brown. Added 2 - 3 cups of Chicken Broth, stirring until everything had blended. Brought to a boil, then simmered for another 5 minutes. Checked taste. Served: Sliced and surrounded with veggies + gravy. Delicious! Cooking the Black & Decker way: A small oven with BIG results!!

This is a Black and Decker 6qt multicooker. This is a true one pot cooker, with features high heat for browning meats and vegetables. And it's a traditional slow cooker for roasts, soups, and beans. Different tempture controlls gives you flexability to cook from 200 degrees to 450 degrees f. A warming function keeps food at the perfect serving tempture. Clean up is quick and easy with a removable pot and a temptured glass lid. This cooker has settings that allow you to sear, saute, roast and bake. Roast/bake knob turns on the bottom and sides heating elements enabling you to both bake and roast food like in a conventional oven. The roasting rack can be used to raise food above the pan bottom for more even roasting or baking. If baking with an oven safe dish, you can place it directly on top of the roasting rack. Now I will try this pot by cooking potatoes. After cleaning the removable cooking pot and glass lid, which are both dish washer safe, I will heat up the cooker. I added the potatoes to the pot, and replaced the lid. I wait till they look done before I check them. They cooked very well. Be sure to use oven mitts or pot holders when taking off the lid or touching the handels of the cooking pot. I would recommend this pot to anyone needing a multifuncting pot, that holds a large quanity of food.

The Black & Decker 6-Quart Multi Function Slow Cooker in the one counter appliance that I will be reaching for again and again. The Multi Function Cooker is three appliances in one. It is a conventional oven that roast and bakes, a stovetop that sears and sautes, and a slow cooker that slow cooks and warms. The Multi Function Cooker has separate side and bottom heaters that allow for optimal results on each setting. The removable ceramic coated cooking pot is durable and dishwasher safe. I love the fact that it comes with an adjustable roast/bake temperature control that you can accurately set from 200 degrees to 450 degrees. My husband cooked a roast and was able to sear in the juices and then roast the meat in this one cooker. A few days later he wanted to bake some Chicken Pot Pies in the cooker. I was a little skeptical, but they turned out beautifully golden brown and baked to perfection. I really appreciate the fact that I will not have to heat up the large oven every time I need to bake. I LOVE this Multi Function Slow Cooker and know that my husband and I will be reaching for it often.

I have come to love this new Black & Decker multi-cooker. My first assumption was that it was simply an odd sized slow cooker, but it's so much more. It also sears/sautes and bakes/roasts. It includes a rack which you can either use to lift a larger cut of meat out of its own juices or with the bake/roast function, you can even fit a small ovenproof dish or pan on top of it as you would in a regular oven. I own a few slow cookers, however the set up for this Black & Decker product is much improved over them. It's a long, shallow pan so if you're making something like chicken wings, you can move them around to make sure they are cooking evenly. They aren't all piled on top of each other as they usually would be in a standard round or oval slow cooker. You can make slow cooker lasagna that looks like it came right out of the oven. The included instruction manual is clear and includes some basic recipes to get you started. There's even a recipe on the flap of the box. The book states you can even use the inner liner itself as a cake pan. Just oil it up and pour the batter right in and using the slow cooker function on low, you'll have a super moist cake in about 3 hours. This made me think this cooker would be perfect for cheesecakes since you could pour some water in the bottom of the liner, place your cheesecake on the rack just above the water line and you have a built in water bath to keep your cheesecake from drying out while baking. I would position a couple layers of paper towels under the lid to prevent the drops of moisture from collecting under the lid and falling on top of your cheesecake. At 6.5 quarts, the cooker is the perfect size to hold a large chicken or put together enough stew to feed a family. Over the weekend, I made a hearty chicken soup using the slow cooker method Saturday and buffalo wings on Sunday. The wings I cooked a couple hours on high with the slow cooker setting but then I wanted to crisp them up so instead of putting them in the oven as I usually would and having to dirty another pan, I just changed the setting to Sear/Saute, set the temp for 400 and in seconds they were frying up and getting a nice crust on them as I turned them. I actually was trying to get them to burn so I could test the non-stick aspect of the ceramic coated liner. What looked burnt on simply washed away with warm water and soap. I only used a brush to get a couple of stubborn bits off and this was with the lightest of effort. No scrubbing involved at all. Love it! Okay, now the cons. The price is a little steep. It is new and we should be seeing the price go down some in coming months. Which brings me to my biggest complaint about this cooker. No timer! I believe at this price point, it should have a built in digital timer. It would be so convenient not only for the slow cooking, but for the other settings as well. It would also be helpful if there was a light that turned on to indicate when the cooker has reached temperature. You really have no way of knowing aside from preheating the recommended time, adding the food and hoping for the best. So many cooking appliances have this now that Im surprised this one didn't. Those were the only two things that I found I really missed--the timer the most. That is a must. There are so many other things I really like about this appliance, that I could almost overlook it. The cooker is built very sturdy. You notice that the minute you pick it up. There's nothing to put together. Everything is complete right out of the box. Just wash the liner and cover and go. The handles are firmly attached with no play whatsoever and made of what appears to be quality metal. The handle on the lid is covered in silicone to prevent burns. I'm not sure if it's supposed to work this way, but if you turn the lid over, the handle can fit over one of the side handles to keep it out of the way while you stir or add ingredients. All in all, it's a really versatile appliance that requires no learning curve, looks good sitting on the kitchen counter and offers the kind of convenience we can all use in our busy lives. There's not much more to say.

I'm doing a review of the Black & Decker 6-Quart Multi Function Slow Cooker. I received this product free from Walmart's Spark Reviewer program to do an unbiased review. Right from the start I can tell you that I love it. It is so easy to use and understand. It comes with a very good manual that explains everything. I have already made some cheesy potato soup. If you are roasting or baking you need to preheat the pot before adding ingredients. It specifies in the manual times. You do not need to preheat if you are slow cooking or using as a slow cooker. I can't tell you how it does as searing, roasting or baking because I have not used it for that yet. The knob comes with the choices of warm, low, high, sear saute and roast bake. You only use the knob when slow cooking. I used the warm feature to keep my soup warm while we ate. I knew we would go back for more. Ha! You use the dial for other cooking and the temperatures ranges from 200 to 450 degrees F. The pot does get hot so keep it away from the edges of the counter. The cord is really short. It is only twenty six inches. That could be a safety issue for keeping the pot away from the edges of the cabinet. I'm not really certain how many quarts this pot holds. The title says six quarts but the box says six and a half. The pot inside can be lifted out to clean. It was very easy to clean. The glass lid gets hot so be careful. Just pick it up by the rubbery part on the handle. The holder does not get hot and is great for a tight grip. It also comes with a rack for your meat. I very highly recommend this product.

I have 2 other slow cookers and this one is my favorite. It does so much more than my other one does. I haven't used all the functions on this one yet but I did use the slow cooker function. The space in this cooker is deep in depth and wide. It's so much bigger than my other 6 quart. My first time using this I put in two 4.5 Lbs. shoulder pork roast in this with so much room for bigger ones, cooked it on high for 6 hours and the meat came right off the bone it was perfect. Left it on warm for an additional 3 hours for a party and the meat was still soft, juicy and excellent. The clean-up was super easy no extra things stuck to the pot like my other two cookers less time to clean. (Has a ceramic interior (Stoneware) - that is dishwasher safe.) I think it's great you can bake, roast, sear, saute, slow cook all on one cooker. One button click to power on and off. One knob for different functions and one knob for temperature control This will be replacing my other two slow cookers without a doubt. Love the stainless steel touch looks so much better in person and by the looks of it you would think it cost more very well made. Comes with a tempered glass lid, rack for baking, instruction booklet also has a few recipes in it. Very well made and not so light a bit on the heavy side which is a plus for me. I most definitely recommend this multi-function slow cooker!!

Awesome multi cooker!!! We have quite a few slow cookers in our home and this new addition of multi cooker is so feature rich that it will make all other cookers almost useless. Though the product title is “Black & Decker 6-Quart Multi Function Slow Cooker” it is actually 6.5 quart. It can work as usual slow cooker or it can be used to sear/sauté or to roast/bake or combinations of those, what a wonderful idea! The look is contemporary and material quality is excellent. Instruction manual is well put together. We were quite impressed even before we started to use it. Weather is cold, so we decided to make “hot n spicy” cake in it, also to exploit roast/bake feature which our other cookers lack. Normally we use conventional oven in our cooking range to make the item. The cake turned out perfect, we were a bit worried if the bottom may burn due to smaller appliance size but nope, it was perfect from all angles. The cleaning was super easy aided by Aluminum foil my wife put before cooking in the cooking pot to avoid food sticking to the pot. Only thing we would like this cooker to have is a timer, we still used our conventional oven's timer to remind us to turn off. We are very happy with this small wonder and excited to try other features. This product certainly gets 5 stars from us.

Black & Decker 6-Quart Multi Function Slow Cooker I just checked and was happy to see that my new crockpot is on its way to me. I was hoping to have it before Thanksgiving so it will be put to good use with our holiday meal. I can't wait to get cooking with it. I love crock pot meals because they are delicious, but I love them more because they are so easy to throw together. If you don't want to clean it in the sink everything can be stuck in the dishwasher. All your recipe ingredients can be made and seared in the multi-cooker before you add the liquid. This makes cleanup a snap, with less pans needing cleaned. I can't wait to cook our Thanksgiving meal in it. I plan on doing a Turkey breast with potatoes, carrots, celery and sweet potatoes. My mouth is watering already thinking about it. Oh and the best part is starting it the night before. Well I did our Thanksgiving meal in it and as usual the Turkey came out awesome, nice and juicy and moist. It was awesome. I absolutely love this cooker and cleanup wasn't bad at all. A few wipes and the pan was clean. I did not use any oil or sprays. You can pretty much cook anything in 4-10 hours to perfection. I want to try and make Bacon Cheeseburger Soup, Stew, Mac and Cheese and chili in it. Oh and another thing that is awesome cooked in the crockpot is corned beef with cabbage and potatoes. I had made this as few years in a row in my old crock pot. *********** Things I had thought would be nice extras: 1. Also wish it came with a dust cover to keep it on the counter top for when not in use. 2. I also wish the top was a bit more domed to fit bigger items in it. 3. Also they could coat the handles with something to keep them cooler if you need to pick it up when its hot. 4. It would be cool if they could put a countdown timer or clock on it with an alarm to let you know when the preset time you enter on it is up. 5. The finish could have been better on mine, if you look closely at it you can see dimpling/imperfections in the metal near the lid around the outside. It doesn't keep if from working however.
