Hamilton Beach (40622R) 12-Cup Stainless Steel Electric Percolator Reviews

Dumped the drip maker about 5 years ago. These make a good pot o coffee but you do get some coffee grinds in your cup. I am on my second pot. The first one rusted were the cord plugs into the coffee pot. This part should be made of stainless Hamilton.

This percolator is awesome! Best coffee maker and for a great price. I would absolutely purchase this again.

If your looking for a fast and easy to use coffee pot then the Hamilton Beach Percolator is for you! Makes anywhere from 4-12 cups and delivers smooth and rich tasting coffee every time! I love the retro look that takes me back a few years... I was surprised that there were absolutely no coffee grounds in the bottom of my cup, as that was a given back in the day! The only thing I didn't like was that the percolator is not submersible! Overall this is a great product and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family! Will enjoy flavorful coffee often with this percolator! I would recommend this to a friend. Pros: * Makes flavorful coffee. I love the coffee it makes! Of course it depends on the coffee you use, but it comes out better in a percolator. * It takes less coffee to make flavorful coffee as the hot water passes over the grinds several times, not once as in other method coffee makers. * Helpful measurements inside the pot. Cons: These cons are not deal breakers. They are why I gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 stars. I will still use this percolator and enjoy the coffee it makes. * I really wish this was programmable so the coffee would start on its own in the morning and be ready when I get up. Nothing complicated, just a simple clock with start time. Then this would be my everyday coffee maker. The glass Lid Handle is difficult to hold. I don't feel I have a secure grip. It's different than the lid shape on the website photo. See picture of percolator on the box attached to this review. * The glass Lid Handle is secured to the top with a plastic ring piece. I don't like that the hot coffee percolates up against this plastic ring. I wouldn't boil water in a plastic coffee pot, so not sure why its made of plastic. Wish the lid was designed differently. I was so excited to pull this Percolator from the box so I could make a full bodied cup of coffee that cannot be replicated with other modern methods. After reading and following all the directions, I filled the percolator with water and coffee made for this item and waited. I saw a burn spot begin to form but continued while watching the pot. As the water began to come to a boil, I saw a leak in the seams. I noticed that is was not my mother or grandmother's percolator of the 70's! It is not as well made as it could be. I poured out a decent, not great cup of coffee. I'm sorry to report this as I am a huge, faithful fan of Hamilton Beach products, but this one missed the mark. I am afraid to use it because of these flaws in workmanship. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I can't resist the intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed percolated coffee. Nowadays, with so many coffee making choices, having tried them all, I still revert to the tried & true perc method. This streamline stainless pot is a no brainer to use. Simply fill with fresh water to the corresponding interior mark of cups, insert your stem, attach the basket, fill, cover, click the lid to lock, watch it begin to perk through the oversize glass knob & wait for the blue light to let you know the coffee is ready. This is a great coffeepot. The only thing is the coffee tends to be on the bold side. So, if you like your coffee milder, just decrease the coffee measure accordingly & you'll be fine. The last cup will be a good & as hot as your first cup due to the great keep warm function. Hope you pick up great value percolator soon.

I am a percolator person.....i like it..it heats up fast and stays hot...i recommend it.

Very attractive, takes up little countertop space and keeps coffee warm without coffee getting stronger.
