I love the old style Percolator-- Makes better coffee and uses less coffee because it is a Percolator. The only complaint that I have is that the top and Basket could be wider mouth to be able to get the coffee in easier. The basket is very small. Would also be nice if they made Coffee Filters to fit the basket.

I liked this percolator when I first got it, but not anymore. The lid has coffee grounds and oil accumulating underneath where you cannot clean it. The lid CANNOT be taken apart. I have cleaned it, and soaked it. I washed it with soapy water, rinsed it, and dried it after every use and cleaned the whole pot with vinegar like the manual says and it's still there-yuck. If I would have known this, I would not have bought it.

We have only had this percolator a few days. So far we are very pleased with it. Using a regular coffee grind without any extra filters there have not been any grounds in our coffee and the coffee is delicious. The price was especially nice too. I definitely recommend this one.

Makes a good cup of hot coffee, but wherever there is an edge of metal it is crudely cut off. Not a refined rounding. I like the large area of glass on the top of the lid and the glass at the handle showing the number of cups. Also I like the light at the front that goes from blue to green when finished. I paid $35 for it and shortly after that, of course, it went on sale for $21. I would say that for $21 it is a fair price for its lack of refinement.

Makes great tasting coffee. It says to use coarse ground so be prepared to also buy a grinder for coffee beans. Makes really hot coffee

Ok, so I've only owned it one day...but I researched percolators after the carafe cracked AGAIN on my BUNN machine. I've always liked how fast BUNN machines make a pot...but I also just took mine apart to get the water out and GROSS...that isn't sanitary!!! So, after looking up many online, my local store had this one in stock. I've only made 2 pots of coffee now, but it was flawless, and hands down smoothest best tasting coffee I've had in years. This coffee is BETTER than what you get at a coffee place. I just used my stand by favorite canned coffee (Chock full of Nuts brand) and the directions do say to "wet" the filter basket to prevent sediment. We didn't even do that and there were no grounds out in the coffee. I like that you don't need to burn your hand prying the guts out to avoid the grounds, the spout is positioned below the grounds, so you won't get a mess in your cup. I did buy the replacement plan for $4 since websites mentioned percolators as a whole wearing out early. It was worth it to know I'd get a replacement if anything happens. Honestly, most drip machines only last 2 years anyway, even the pricier grind and brew with high end names only give you 3-4 years.

Coffee at vendors (Starbucks, Tim Horton's, Dunkin Doughnuts, etc.), seems to be costing more and more for the same things. Lately I remembered the best cup of coffee I had ever had. It came from my Aunt Millie's percolator coffee pot. Great cup! So, fishing on the Internet, I looked up coffee machines at WalMart (Wally's World) and priced the perk machines. As Hamilton Beach is a great brand (my coffee grinder is also Hamilton Beach) I figured that it would be a good buy. Then for a price of less than a twenty, including tax, I thought that I might give it a try. Great cup of coffee. I make up six cups after I insert the coffee I grind up fresh. The excess coffee goes into making ice cubes for smoothies. For the money and the convenience of the coffee maker, it's a NO BRAINER!

I had a Presto percolator before this one and when it finally wouldn't get hot enough to brew good coffee after 4 yrs, I thought I would try this pot which got great reviews. It's much quieter when brewing than the Presto. No loud pops or squeals. I prefer the brushed steel exterior of this pot. It also has a green light to signal when brewing is done although with the clear plastic top you can see that for yourself. I love the clear waterline markings inside the pot. The basket is taller and smaller than the Presto and the Presto basket has holes in the bottom whereas this one has ribbon type openings in the bottom. I've had the pot a couple of weeks and I can't quite get the same great coffee flavor the Presto gave. I think it's the style of the basket. The coffee itself is every bit as hot as the Presto before it went out, so I believe it's the more compressed and less free opening bottom of the brew basket that's the issue. Can't speak to durability after only 2 weeks.

I had to take the 1st one back because water leaked out under the handle. The box was beat up pretty bad so I think it was probably damaged in shipping. I bought this one because my Grandpa always said "there ain't no better coffee than from a perculator!" and I was tired of the automatic drip because after you put your cream in it it's barely warm. I was leary to buy one though after reading some not so great reviews on another one (presto) about how the cord rusts and shorts out. So I bought this one and it's been GREAT! The coffee is still blistering hot after you put the cream in it :) The only thing I don't like about it is the chrome finish shows every little smudge but I can live with that!
