Workaround: You can use the camera on your cell phone to see the dim LEDs. Shouldn't have to, but it works pretty well.

We've had this coffeemaker for only a few weeks and now we get an e3 error every time we try to use it. The error comes up, beeps and then the coffeemaker shuts down. What a complete waste of money. Will never buy a Krupp's again.

We are very, very pleased with this coffeemaker. It has several features that work well. It was easy to program. The coffee does not spill over the lip when poring from the carafe. The coffee is delicious. We frequently make small pots (1-4 cups) and previous coffeemakers seemed to always make weak coffee in smaller amounts. This one makes really good coffee no matter how much we make. The only complaints we have are that neither one of us could get the gadget open where the water filter goes, so we just don't use it. And we would have preferred a coffeepot with a lid that is easily removed for washing both the lid and the pot in the dishwasher. This lid seems like it would break if we tried to get it off. We have to hand wash the pot.

I love this coffee maker because of the modern look and features that make the morning coffee routine easier. The filter is permanent so all you have to do is clean and reuse it... that is a huge plus. I always use the auto start feature that I programmed for my morning coffee fix. The water tank not only holds a lot of water, but you can easily view the current water left in the tank. The coffer pot is easy to hold and you can pour coffee even while the unit is still brewing. I would buy this as a gift for a coffee lover. I sampled this coffee maker thanks to viewpoints.

Overall this is a decent coffee maker, it does its job well, I like the permanent filter that comes with it so I can eliminate the use of paper filters. Cleaning was not an issue at all. The functions are quite straight forward, no complicated settings. It brewed a hot pot of coffee within a few minutes and the pot stayed hot for quite some time with the warming plate. The only issue I faced was steam (quite a lot) tended to come out towards the end of the brewing cycle so it is advised not to put the coffee maker right under a cabinet.

Seemed like it was going to be a great machine until I fired it up for the first cup. Horrible plastic taste and smell. Have run a dozen or more cycles with water/white vinegar mix. Getting better but still more effort than expected to make a cup of coffee.

I've been using Krups coffee makers for decades and the Savoy coffeemaker makes great coffee. The water filter is easy to replace and the heating element keeps the coffee hot without burning it.The only problem is the carafe. In just over a year we've have had to replace it three times. Despite treating it gently, always washing by hand, the carfare cracks and the spout chips very easily.I am extremely disappointed. If I had know I would have purchased the version with the thermal carafe. Now, I'm not sure I'll replace it with a Krups. I've come to expect better craftsmanship from them.

When I married my husband in 2001, he had a Krups coffee maker and it lasted for years. When it finally went out, I naturally bought another Krups. In less than 3 years I have had 3 different makers all having the same problem, the hot plate goes out. Since they are not expensive I continue to buy them. If I could find a more reliable maker, I would change. But many reviews of different brands all have similar problems. I am just going to assume they just don't make them like they used to.

Received this coffee maker on 12/28/16 and it was defective. The first time it was used it displayed an E3 error code and shut down. It was unable to even make one pot of coffee. How can a company produce a project that is defective from the factory? What an inconvenience to the consumer. I called Krups consumer line and was told the E3 code couldn't be fixed unless I sent it back to them to repair. Fortunately, the on-line retailer we purchased it from had a no-questions-asked return policy so I sent it back for a refund.

I heard it was one of the best coffee pots but it took too long to get it...
