A whole chicken can fit in with still room left. Today I have 2 round steaks that fit perfectly. It cooks so good. It should be named Fast Cooker. I put the steak on around 9. Thick cut. It is so tender already just added BBQ sauce..AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE & the price was right.

I have owned 3-4 slow cookers; one was a programmable Cuisinart. and the other two were CrockPot brand. This one beats them all. It cooks steak, pork chops, soup, and chicken perfectly. Nothing has been overcooked, there are no hot spots, and everything I cooked tastes the way it should. The warm feature is nice as well. This Proctor Silex 4-Quart Slow Cooker is the best value on the market! What it lacks in style it more than makes up for in performance! Easily the best crock pot I've owned.

I was concerned after reading other comments but for the price I decided to try it. I am very happy with the product now. It does NOT get as hot as my older CrockPot model but that is a good thing for me because the CrockPot always seemed to be TOO hot. And, I like the "Warm" setting. All in all this does a great job. I love the ability to take out the liner for cleaning. One note - the instructions state NOT to use this for storing food on the Fridge. I also allow it to cool down a little before washing as I believe the switch from very hot to much cooler may cause a tendency to crack the ceramic (?) liner. I would definitely buy this again.

Be aware that the slow cooker is described as a 4 quart OVAL on their website when in actually it is a 4 quart Round. However it is nice looking in the black color. Haven't used it yet in fact i'm thinking of returning it. As i said looks like a nice slow cooker but i was wanting to purchase an oval shaped cooker.

My previous slow cooker was larger (maybe 7 quarts?), so the ceramic crock insert was quite a bit heavier than this one. Because it was so bulky, I had difficulty washing it by hand (I'm just not a fan of putting it in the dishwasher). I find it much easier to hand wash this smaller, lighter-weight crock. That reason alone makes it more convenient for me to use. Also, some of the other brands in this price range didn't include the "keep warm" feature. Even though I don't use it very often, I like knowing that I have that option.

I needed a slow cooker that had a dial (versus buttons) so that I could use it with a timer. This works perfectly! And, it's small enough that it holds just the right amount for 2 people (with maybe a little left over).

Only had this cooker for one month so can't speak to durability. Have used it twice and it worked as it should. Good size for two people.

Does what you would expect from a slow cooker, pretty simple. Could use with a much longer cord. 10 inches or so is limiting. And a light to let you know it's on would be nice too. Used it twice so far and works just fine.

I read the reviews on this item before I purchased. I thought it was a good crock pot. I must have got one that was not fully inspected. The lid did not fit on the crock properly. It was able to wiggle on it. There is no way that this slow cooker would have worked as it is suppose to.

I picked this slow cooker up at my local Wal-mart store today as a site-to-store order. It's going to be a Christmas gift. There were cheaper slow cookers in stock, but most were too large or didn't have the "keep warm" feature that I wanted. It was shipped very quickly, but it was a good thing that it was packed very securely in it's own box, because the packing in the larger box that it was shipped in, left alot to be desired. And also, FYI.... it is described as "OVAL SHAPED" in the item description, IT IS ROUND. I wanted an oval one, and ordered this going by the description, since it was a little hard to tell by the picture.
